Tara texted me this morning. It was Wednesday, and she wanted to hang out in the library.
I never spoke to her about the Arianna thing, I wasn't sure if it was a topic I should press.
When I got to the library, I went to the back seating area, and she was sitting there on her Mac computer.
"Hey." I greeted her.
"Hiii." She greeted me back cheerfully.
"What should we do today?" I asked.
"Well, I was gonna force you to read Shakespeare buttttt..."
"Oh God no." I said with wide eyes.
She laughed, "I'm kidddinggg. Let's play roblox."
"That's more my speed." I said.
I pulled out my computer and logged on.
"What games do you play? Besides jailbreak, please." Tara said, looking over at me.
"I play Neverland Lagoon. I've been playing it for years."
"That sounds fun, imma join you." She said.
"It is. I was obsessed with it as a kid."
I got her to join, and we played Neverland and Meep City for about 3 hours straight. Afterward, Tara was showing me books around the library.
"This series starts with a book called Firelight." She said, showing me a book.
The book had a woman on the front who had red hair and a half dragon face.
"What's that about?" I asked.
"A colony of creatures called draki. They shape-shift into dragon like creatures, and they have different abilities." She said.
"That sounds cool. I've never read that." I said.
"And the girl on the front is the only fire breather. They want her to marry a different draki to produce more fire breathers, but she's in love with a human." Tara explained.
"I'll be reading that." I said.
"What kind of books do you read?" She asks.
"I've read every book from twilight and beautiful creatures. I tried shadowhunters, but I got bored." I admitted.
"That series is everlasting. Have you ever read Cinder?" She asked as we walked the aisles slowly.
"The books about the twists on fairy tales?" I replied.
"Yess, those are good." She said.
"I actually have to finish those, I only got up to the rapunzel one." I said.

[Mindy: let me dream]
I turned my phone off and followed Tara to a reading section.
She read 3 chapters of firelight to me.
"I like this book. Question though, have you ever read beastly?" I asked.
"No, what's that about." She said.
"Kinda like Cinder, it's a twist on a fairlytale, modern-day beauty and the beast. I've read it 1000 times." I said.
"Read it to me one day." She smiled.
I nodded, smiling back.
Tara and I managed to spend an entire day in the library with just the two of us when I got a text from Mindy.
[Mindy: movie night at my place?]
"Tara, Mindy wants to know if we wanna come over for movie night."
"Sure." Tara said, skimming the shelves.
[yea sure we're down🫡]
[Mindy: want me to pick you up from the library?🙂↕️]
[ That would be great. We ubered here. I can't wait to get my car.🙂]
[Mindy:😭😭you'll get it soon]
Tara and I sat at the front of the library in the waiting area, waiting for Mindy to pick us up.
"I had fun today." Tara said.
"Yeah, me too." I smiled.
It was nice to spend time with her. Having nobody we know around. Nobody that wants me. Nobody that wants her. Made things go a lot smoother this time.
That was all about to end for the day, though. Mindy was outside, and Wes was already at her house with everyone else.
The drive to Mindy's house was peaceful. It reminded me of when the three of us were little girls in the back of Tara's mom's car listening to The Beach Boys. Her mom was around more then, and a lot changed. Thankfully, our bonds never did.
We pulled up to Mindy's house in no time. Everyone was in the living room watching scooby doo.
"Mindy's choice, I assume?" I said as I found a spot on the love seat.
Tara sat next to me after greeting everyone.
"Heyy, Scooby-Doo is a classic." Mindy said from the kitchen.
"Whatcha cookin' back there?" Tara asked.
"Beef stew." Mindy said cheerfully.
"I'll help." Tara said.
She headed towards the kitchen, and I rested my feet on the couch.
Liv came over to the end of it to speak to me.
"So, are you and Tara dating?" She whispered.
"Is it that obvious that I like her?" I said in a hushed tone.
"Yeah, and I think it's obvious that she likes you. She goes everywhere with you." Liv replied.
"Mindy's been saying Tara's obvious too, but -"
"Buttt? Go for it. We literally only live once." Liv said.
"I just don't wanna scare her away or anything." I explained.
"Excuses. Tara's so sweet. She'd never abandon you. You guys have known each other since you were little kids." Liv added.
"Right. I just don't wanna rush it too much." I said.
"It's ok, with time." She winked and scooted next to Chad.
Tara came back over after a bit, and Mindy finished up with dinner. She brought trays over for everyone with their food on it.
"Thanks, Mindyy." Everyone said.
"I wanna pick a movie." I said, reaching for the remote.
"Scooby-Dooooo." Mindy pouted.
"Fine, you win." I said.
I stayed over at Mindy's for another hour before I got a text from my mom.
[Mom: Where are you]
[I'm at mindys house mom]
[Mom: Are you coming home tonight or staying there?]
[gonna stay here]
[Mom: do you have clothes there?]
[Yesss mom I do]
[Mom: okayy just asking, be safe😘]
[I will🖤]
"You guys want a blanket?" Mindy asked.
"Yeah, that'd be great. It's cold in here." Tara said.
Mindy came back with a big plush blanket and threw it on us.
"Thanks." I said muffled underneath.
Tara laid closer to me, and we watched the movie for a bit. I was probably gonna be the first to fall asleep. My eyes were already heavy. Tara's body heat wasn't doing anything but making me more sleepy.
I soon fell asleep as the noise around me got fainter and fainter.
