Chapter Three - The Conversation

My hideout was so small, that the workshop too was close to Adam's room. Only a thin wall and a door between us. There I planned, with notes, recypes, tests for spells, enchantments and curses scattered everywhere, magical and alchemic circles drawn with chalk. As messy as it was, like the rest of the house, it was also the place where I slept since Adam was my honoured guest.
To cut it short, it was the perfect blend between a mage and alchemist's workshop. Adam's medicine was produced on that very desk, and so was everything I cooked.

I was reading a tome regarding teletransportation spells, being quite focused on it. The book itself had been a hard steal. I noticed on my own, since my arrival in the pride ring, that most of the powerful beings of Hell and Heaven alike were able to effortlessly open up portals to space travel. I assumed it was an inborn ability, one of the many things to distinguish hierarchy.
In fact - The book was merely descriptive, only a no brainer could print something that would actually teach such a reserved spell.
And even so, such a complicated spell couldn't be learned.
It wasn't one of my silly tricks, but actual magic that disrupted time and space to rewrite reality and move an object to point A to B.

I couldn't help but smile. How foolish to give me this much information.

«No matter who you are. As long as you can understand it, every incantation can be broken down and repurposed

My mother always used to say it.

Yes. I didn't need that tacky spell. Even if I wanted, I couldn't. So I merely needed to create my own version of it.

Mother was right.

Under my mask, my eyes were drunk with power as I imagined the infinite possibilities.

If I actually succeeded, I could've hijacked Hell's ring system and travel between rings, becoming the very first sinner to visit any other ring besides the pride one. And with that, came a larger amount of supplies. My magic was a hybrid of sorcery and alchemy, meaning that the more resources I accumulated, the more power and access to new spells I gathered.

I also rescued Adam. He was slowly recovering, blissfully unaware of how useful he would end up being to me.
The very ace up my sleeve.

«... All of this is right.»

I reassured myself.
Although those words were pointless, as I already truly believed in my ideal.

Everyone had to pay.

A thud came from the other room. I quickly ran to see.

«Adam?»

Before me, he was on the ground, but trying to pull himself up. He still had some bandages, and I procured him some shorts as his previous clothes needed fixing.

He raised his golden eyes at me, the shady figure who nursed him. And as if his pride depended on it, he effectively managed to stand up, despite his wounds not having fully healed. I walked closer to him. He was so tall, I could see his knees slightly bent to not slam his head on the ceiling.

«S-See? Bet you didn't expect this, buddy, I can already walk agaaa-»

And he fell over me, sealing our fates.
Just kidding, but...

«Great. Now what? »
«Shut up! It's your fault for being a little runt. Bet you can't lift your own weight.»

The situation was borderline insane. The entirety of his massive body was over me, and he was right, I surely lacked the strength to pull it over. But so did he, because he was still not in the condition of walking for long periods of time.
