Author's POV
As Liana and Ava embarked on their leisurely stroll through the garden, the air was alive with the heady scent of blossoms and the gentle rustle of leaves dancing in the breeze. Sunlight filtered through the canopy of trees, casting dappled shadows on the winding path before them.
With each step, the tension of earlier conversations melted away, replaced by a sense of tranquility and camaraderie. "So tell me, why did you cut your hair that day? Not that your hair is short anymore"
"One unholy rant touched it" she replied with simple tone making Ava laugh. "You cut your hair just because of that?" Liana looked at her as she chuckled before speaking, "Well afterall he is unholy".
As Ava divulged her past training with Liana's mother, a mischievous glint sparkled in Liana's eyes. She listened intently, her lips twitching with suppressed amusement as she plotted her next move.
However, as Ava reached the climax of her tale, Liana couldn't contain her laughter any longer. "Oh, Ava," she exclaimed between fits of giggles, "you've been training with my mom all this time and didn't even know I was her daughter!"
Ava's expression shifted from surprise to indignation in the blink of an eye. "What?!" she sputtered, her cheeks flushing with anger. "You mean to tell me you've been keeping this from me all along?"
Liana's laughter bubbled forth like a shaken soda can, her amusement uncontainable. "I couldn't resist the opportunity for a good prank," she confessed, her grin widening into a mischievous smirk.
Ava's anger melted away, replaced by a begrudging admiration for her friend's cunning. "Well played, Liana," she conceded, her lips twitching with the effort to suppress a smile. "But next time, warn a girl before dropping a bombshell like that!"
As Ava's indignation reached its peak, Liana couldn't help but burst into laughter, her amusement echoing through the garden like a chorus of chirping birds. "Oh, Ava, your expression is priceless!" she exclaimed between giggles, wiping tears of mirth from her eyes.
Ava's eyes narrowed in mock annoyance, her lips quirking into a mischievous smirk. "You think that's funny, do you?" she challenged, her tone playful yet determined.
Liana's laughter subsided, replaced by a sense of wary anticipation as she eyed Ava warily. "Uh-oh, I sense trouble brewing," she quipped, her grin faltering slightly.
With a sly grin, Ava's eyes twinkled with mischief as she plotted her revenge. "Oh, you have no idea," she replied cryptically, her voice dripping with faux innocence.
And with that ominous declaration, Ava disappeared into the foliage, leaving Liana to wonder what devilish scheme her friend had concocted. Moments later, a sudden splash of water caught Liana off guard as she found herself drenched from head to toe, courtesy of Ava's sneak attack with a water hose.
Liana sputtered in surprise, her laughter ringing out like a peal of bells as she shook the water from her hair. "Ava, you sneaky little minx!" she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of surprise and delight.
Ava emerged from her hiding spot, her grin as wide as the Cheshire Cat's as she reveled in the success of her prank. "Consider us even, Liana," she declared triumphantly, her eyes dancing with mischief.
As Liana and Ava doubled over in laughter, their prank war reaching new heights of hilarity, a sudden voice cut through the air like a thunderclap. "What in the world is going on here?!"
Startled, they turned to see Master Zaltor, their esteemed elder, standing before them with a look of exasperation etched on his face. In his hands, he clutched two broomsticks, brandishing them like swords of justice.
