Not long after falling asleep Chase was woken up by Blitz whining and hitting him with his paws.
"What's wrong bud?" Chase asks.
Blitz whined louder and moved closer to Chase. That was when Chase saw the lightening flash and heard the thunder.
"It's okay Blitz it's just a thunder storm. You are safe." Chase says scratching his ears.
That was when he heard the alarm on the door alert someone was using a key. Chase sat up and watched as Lexi walked in. She looked distraught.
"Chase." Lexi says crackly.
"What's wrong?" Chase asks.
He was out of bed and closed the gap between them in seconds.
"I hate thunderstorms. I absolutely hate them." Lexi says.
"Come here baby." Chase says opening his arms.
Lexi walked right into them. Chase wraps his arms around her. That was when there was a loud clap of thunder. Lexi jumped a mile high.
"Can we go into the bathroom and sleep?" Lexi asks.
"Of course baby girl." Chase says.
Chase went and got blankets and pillows and made a bed for them in the bathtub. They both get in. Blitz took his spot on the towel in front of the tub. Lexi was laying on his chest clinging to him, shaking. Chase rubbed her back.
"I am sorry, but I hate storms." Lexi says.
"It's okay. You are safe." Chase says kissing her head.
"My grandfather was killed right in front of me by lightning." Lexi says.
"Oh god Lex, that is horrible. I am sorry." Chase replies.
