Chapter 34 - Visitors

Albert and Benson were standing outside of the room.

" You have to tell me what's going on. " said Benson

" I don't know...... I'm also trying to figure out what's going on." Albert replied

" You know what's happening, don't lie to me. I can't go on like this anymore. Give me a reason to trust you. " said Benson

" Alright " said Albert after pausing for a moment. " It is important that no one else knows this. She is not who she claims to be. Dan recruited her for an unknown purpose. Today I found a file that belonged to her and a photo of a young Jessica. She is here to complete something Dan is working on behind our backs. "

" How did I miss that ? " Benson was really angry " each employee undergoes a background check. Even though we know their darkest secrets, you're saying she somehow managed to trick us ? " asked Benson

" Yes, but it's not our fault. The work Dan was doing began well before FIESTAA. As for Jessica, she was a part of it from a very young age. She dedicated her life to it. " said Albert

" So what now ? Where is the ship going ? We can track it, right ?" asked Benson

" I don't think so, no tracking, no kill codes. She is not stupid. We were just a group of idiots watching a play, thinking we were involved. In reality we were merely spectators. " said Albert

Even though Albert knew where it was going, he lied about it. He wanted Allen to complete his mission.

" Did you find anything else from the files ? " asked Benson

" Dan mentioned a day, on that day, we would receive something that would reveal everything to me and Diya. If I'm right it's today or tomorrow. That's why Jessica chose today for the launch. I don't know how, but we may have an answer soon. " said Albert.

" We don't have a day, we must answer to the world. We lost a multi-million dollar project. A ship capable of destroying an entire country has gone AWOL. This won't end well. " said Benson

" What choice do we have ? " Albert asked

" We should question her together. " said Benson

" I would appreciate some more time alone with her. I may be able to find something useful. " said Albert

" What make you think that ? " asked Benson

" Because I knew Dan. She was one of my closest friends. I could use that. " said Albert

" Alright, I will give you 30 minutes. I have to report everything to representatives from every country. I will stall them as long as I can, but please come up with something. " said Benson

" Thanks.... " Albert went inside again.

Jessica was sitting there looking very disappointed. She was angry and sad at the same time.

" What's your plan ? I know that ship is going to Alaska. Tell me what's going on. Or I will have to arrest you. " said Albert

" I can't. Even if I tell you, it's no use. I thought I could change everything. I thought I can change......" her hand smashed against the table.

" If you tell me what's going on, maybe I can help you. " said Albert

" You can't, nobody can. Dan tried, so did I. " said Jessica

" Listen up, they are coming for you, we don't have much time. You will be send to prison. I knew Dan, she was my friend. There is no way she will do anything stupid. You were working with her for a reason, a reasonable one. I can help you if you tell me what's going on. We can actually help each other " said Albert
