Chapter 14: Was it fake?

It had been a whole month, and Chris was getting annoyed by Kay's stubbornness

-Chris's pov-

I was sitting in my office, tapping my pen on the table, "Sir, are you all right?" I heard my butler asked me

"I'm fine" I replied in a dry tone, I was thinking of some way to get Kay to listen to me

She had rejected the affection I gave her, barely eating the food I gave her, and just being stubborn

"You're not fine Sir, you thinking about Miss Kay, aren't you" I couldn't hide anything from this man, he read me like a book

I leaned back in my chair, taking in a deep breath "You can't force her to fall in love with you, Sir" Now I was getting annoyed

"Don't tell me what to do, beside she will fall in love with me, no matter what" I said and clenched my fist

That little Riki was in her head, she wouldn't fall for me because of that kid....he's not even here and yet he's making me mad

"I'm going to check on her," I said as I got up from my seat and left the room

-Kay's pov-

I had just finished my shower, I put on the clothes that were given to me

It wasn't anything special, just a T-shirt with some shorts, I looked in the mirror and saw myself

My lips were chapped, I was hella tired I had eye bags, and I looked a bit pale because I hadn't been eating as much

I didn't trust the food that Chris had been giving me, I had only drank water and eaten the crumbs but that's all

I left the bathroom, leaving the door open cause it was my only light source, I sat on the bed

I heard the door open, the light shined into the room, I looked up and saw Chris "Oh..." I mumbled, I put the blanket over my lap

He only comes here to give me food or when he's bored "Hi pretty"  he came towards me and sat next to me

"Hi..." I said quietly and moved over a bit so we were separated "No need to move away, I'm not going to bite"

I just looked at him weirdly "What's the point of keeping me here if I'm not going to fall for you" I asked

He just laughed "You are going to fall for me and I'll make sure of it" I didn't trust him, he was going to do something but I didn't know what

"Good luck" I mumbled while glaring at him, I was tired, and I wanted to sleep more

"You should eat more, you look so frail, I don't want my pretty girl to get sick," he said while looking at me, he had a warm gaze, almost like it was full of worries but I could tell that it was more sinister

Skipping meals is not good but I'm not going to eat whatever he makes me, even if he's being all kind, I'm not going to trust him, he kidnapped me

"I rather get sick than fall in love with you" I straight up say to him, not caring about the consequences

"Oh, you wouldn't want that, pretty," he said to me, he was moving his hand closer to me but I slapped it away

I glared at him "Touch me and I'll make sure that you don't have any kids" he smirked at what I said

"Someone is feisty" he was disgusting to me, doesn't he get it? I'm not in love with him or going to fall for him

-Chris's pov-

She continued to glare at me, she looked so adorable all angry, I couldn't stop smiling "You're so cute"

"You're disgusting," she said to me "Me? Disgusting?" I had an amused expression but I was annoyed

the attitude she was giving me was pissing me off

"Yes, you're disgusting, you know that I'm married, and yet you're trying to make me fall for you"

I rolled my eyes at her "Okay....But your marriage was forced on you, there wasn't any love in it"

She stopped talking and just looked at me "You think I wouldn't know?" I asked

"Oh you silly girl" She was so stupid but it was cute, it was easy to get in her head

"With forced marriages, there's acting, so do you think that Niki loves you? Everything that he does is an act"

"There is nothing real about your 'marriage'" I continued to tell her this, and I could tell that she was thinking about everything the two had done together

I smirked, my plan was working, she was overthinking

-Kay's pov-

I stared at him blankly, the things he was telling me were making me think about what Niki had done for me

I knew that our marriage was forced and all but the things that Niki had done for me didn't seem fake or was it just me being delusional

"Was everything fake? Was it just to keep me with him?" I thought to myself, I started to overthink

"Don't tell me that you think what Niki done for you was 'out of love'? Oh, you poor thing, he does this with every woman his father tries to pair him up with"

I looked up at him, what was Chris trying to say, what did he mean by that?

I knew that Niki had other girls his father tried to pair him up with because of Lily, she told me about it

"He acts all sweet and all then hurts them later, he's only being nice because of his father"

I sat there listening to everything he said, I didn't know what to think anymore

"He only agrees to that because of his selfish reason, he did it so he doesn't have his father nagging him"

I just looked down at my lap, gripping the blanket "But I wouldn't do that to you, I love you, unlike Niki who's just using you"

"I wouldn't hurt you, I would do anything to make you happy"

I looked up at him, just to see that he was already looking at me "I promise" I gave him a blank stare

He sounded genuine but I didn't believe him "Just leave..." I told him, and he let out a sigh "Fine, I'll be back....just know that I will treat you better" he said before leaving

I let out a sigh and lay down on the bed, I stated at the ceiling, rethinking everything

The rose garden....Him being worried about me...the ring...just everything

Was it all fake...?
