Daryl wasn't one to brag about his strength or knowledge, knowing that there would always be someone bigger there to knock him down. However, carrying Carol into the cell block was pretty high on his achievements. She may have been dehydrated and starved, but she wasn't as light as she seemed.

(Btw not fat shaming anyone! Or saying Melissa McBride is fat. I am simply being realistic. Most stories always portray Daryl as this beast who can lift anyone, saying that they're "light at a feather". While yes, I do believe Daryl/Norman can lift a good bit, HELLO THOSE ARMS, I do believe he would still feel their weight lmao. And he is 15 in this story so yeah, it just made sense.)

He brought her to one of the empty cells, grabbing some water and crackers for the woman, and then leaving to get Rick. He stumbled into the room noticing a woman he had never seen before, being pinned down by the leader.

"Rick." Daryl spoke up, interrupting the tense moment between the two adults. "Who the hell is this?"

"You wanna tell us your name?" The man asks, looking down at the stranger. She was obviously strong, physically and mentally. Rick repeats himself, but all he gets in return is unbreaking eye contact.

"Yall come on in here." Daryl instructs, motioning Elodie, Oliver, and Nathan to follow him. They all stood around, hands hovering over their weapons, much like Carl.

"Everything all right?" Rick asked, standing up to his full height and looking over at the antsy teen.

"You're gonna want to see this." He answered, watching as the man gave the go ahead for everyone to go.

Daryl led them towards the cell, and watched as Rick hugged her with most of his strength. Herschel followed his lead, carefully maneuvering on his crutches.

"Pour thing fought her way into a cell. Must have passed out. Dehydrated." Daryl explained when Rick questioned how she was here.

The mood changes drastically when Beth walks up with Lil' Asskicker in her arms. Carol only had to take a glance at Rick to figure out what happened, and immediately tears were falling.

Daryl nudged Carl's arm, letting him know he was there. The boy didn't react other than a nudge back, his message was clear.

After everyone had reunited with Carol, they walked back into the room that the strange woman was in. She had moved herself up to one of the tables, waiting impatiently on them.

"We can tend to that wound for you, give you a little food and water, and then send you on your way." Rick started strongly, as they walked up, the women showing no emotion other than anger. "But you're gonna have to tell us how you found us and why you were carrying formula."

"The supplies were dropped by a young Asian guy with a pretty girl." She answered, sending all their hearts plummeting. Hershel stood up from where he was leaning against a table, at the mention of his daughter.

"What happened?" Rick demanded, showing no sympathy for the bleeding women.

"Were they attacked?" Hershel interrupts, going for a much nicer approach but still strong and steady.

The woman then tells them about how the man who shot her took the couple to some town run by a man who calls himself the Governor. Daryl was standing next to Oliver and Nathan, the latter trying desperately to keep his emotions out of his facial expressions.

Nathan had already lost his parents, no way was he going to lose Maggie too. He was half listening now, everything sounded like it was underwater. His thoughts were running faster than he could catch up too. What if they were too late? What if the only thing left to save from that town was two corpses?
