According to Merle, having a friend in the group was good, because that meant they trusted them enough to not steal everything. Daryl didn't agree, he knew people still didn't trust his older brother, they trusted him. They just simply dealt with Merle, so that Daryl could be part of the group.

Luckily, that meant he was able to hang out with Oliver whenever he wanted, as long as they had meat. It had been about a month and a half since Oliver and Mrs. Elodie joined the camp. This week Shane was teaching Carl, Oliver, and Daryl different knots. Daryl already knew a few from his uncle Jess, so sometimes he taught Shane a new one also.

Daryl had stuck to his promise last month, and brought Glenn the biggest, fattest rabbit he had ever seen, and Glenn cheered and laughed as if he had won an award. He brings back as many as he can from each hunt, as it has turned into a new trade. Carl and Oliver like comics also, so they trade them between each other, and Glenn tries to find as many as he can in the city. They have roughly fifty comics total, between the three.

He finally found the nerve to talk to Sophia and Mrs.Carol, and he was correct about Ed. They never told him, but he could tell by some of the marks on Mrs.Carol. Oliver's mom encouraged them to join the younger kids in doing school work, which Daryl hated with a passion, but Lori went easier on them because they were older.

Dale had joined the small book club a few times, trading some chapter books for a comic, so he could see what "was so great" about them. Daryl liked the Stephan King books and Oliver liked the Harry Potter series. Unfortunately, Dale didn't have too many books, so he didn't have much to trade, but occasionally he would pretend not to notice Daryl sneaking a comic onto the bed in the RV.

Everyone at camp adored Daryl now that he was coming out of his shell, he had saved their lives a few times already. He let Amy know what poisonous mushrooms looked like, he showed Lori which leaves were poison ivy. He had even shown them how to make the stringed cans around the camp, as a sound system.

Today, Mrs. Elodie was allowing Oliver to join Daryl on a hunt, and he was ecstatic. He had never been hunting with anyone besides Merle, his dad, or uncle Jess. Lori didn't allow Carl to come, she was too worried about him. Daryl understood, but he never went too far from camp, and he knew his way around the woods, so maybe he could come in the future.

Daryl walked up to Glenn, hoping to catch him before he left on a run. This is a big day for both of them, Daryl is bringing Oliver on a hunt, and Glenn is bringing a group into the city. This is the first time anyone has gone with Glenn, and Merle is going too, so he's kind of worried for the man.

"Hey, what's up?" Glenn asked, watching Daryl walk up with a cautious face. It was normal for the kid to come see him before he left, but he wasn't expecting him to do it in front of Merle.

"Just wanted to give you this," he answered, as he handed over his, Mrs. Elodie, and Mrs. Carol's lists, "and say good luck." He ducked his head with a blush, when he noticed his brother staring at them with a look of disgust.

Glenn ignored Merle, and told Daryl good luck on his hunt, while stuffing the paper in his front pocket. There was a main list of things he always looked for; food, toilet paper, batteries, flashlights, etc. However, he still got the things that aren't necessarily survival items, like blankets, lotion, puzzles, coloring books, and reading material.

Daryl normally asked for the bare minimum, usually waiting until he was completely out before asking. Last week he only asked for a new backpack, because his old one got caught on a log and it tore a hole on the bottom. It still causes laughter to bubble up, when he remembers Daryl's face when Shane told him he was 'losing cargo'.
