Author's Note : Okay so because season three has the whole Governor plot, and we see multiple scenes and even whole episodes in Woodbury, I have taken it upon myself to include some "scenes" from the time jump between S2 and S3.
These aren't canon, besides the storage units. I did come up with them, just because I wish we could have seen a little bit more of the in between in the show. I also used this to show some character bonds. I also would just like to say that I have absolutely no idea what stores were around the farm or prison.
I live in Georgia, born and raised, but I am in the very southern part, rather than near Atlanta like the group was. So I am definitely using places near where I live as places they stay in or loot.
Also I made this so that it was in a 7 month time frame, because I believe that's how far along Lori is when we start season 3, if I'm wrong then I apologize.
A sharp whistle pierced the air, alerting the ex-cop of the group's return. Rick had allowed Daryl to walk with a few group members, who needed to use the restroom. They were currently in a small strip mall, hiding out in the backroom of a Dollar Tree.
Daryl led the small group towards Rick and T-dog, keeping an eye out for anything lurking in the aisles. They had cleared the store when they came in, but they were all on edge.
"Do you two want to help me look through the aisles? I want to get it done before we settle down for the night." Rick asked, looking at Daryl and Oliver. He looked over at Elodie to make sure she was okay with it, and got a nod in return.
"Yeah, just let us tell Charlie." Oliver responded, heading over to the little girl sitting next to Beth and Carl. He squatted down next to her, while Daryl crouched down on one knee. "We're going with Rick to collect some supplies okay? If you need anything just let Glenn or T know."
"Okay." Charlotte beamed up at him, putting her tiny fist up. Both boys gave her a gentle fist bump, their new "signature handshake". Lori and Carol shared a small grin, watching the two boys interact with the girl.
In the two months that they've been on the road, Charlotte has grown close to everyone, but has chosen Daryl and Oliver as her main two people. The adults assume it's because they were both there when Oliver saved her, but she had never told why they were her favorite.
Once they were out of the backroom, Rick split from the boys, going towards the front so he would be the first one spotted if they ran into anyone. Daryl and Oliver stayed near each other, but looted separate aisles.
Daryl wasted no time to shove the last two boxes of tampons in his duffle bag, grinning at how happy the women would be when they saw them. One package of pads had also survived, shoved way back on the shelf, but he saw it anyway. A chuckle left his lips as he threw two small boxes of condoms in the bag as well, Glen would be pleased with that discovery.
Oliver was sharing the same luck as his chosen brother, his duffle halfway full of canned food, packaged crackers, and small snacks. He shoved a few packs of lifesaver gummies into the side pocket, hidden away for the kids. His mouth watered at the sight of three boxes of whales, the off-brand (but better) goldfish. He quickly shoved them into his bag.
The man at the front of the store kept an eye on the windows near the door, as well as the boys shuffling throughout the store. He had tossed an entire lighter display, five travel size flashlights, any candy left near the registers, and two box cutters into his backpack. He made a mental note to get another bag to collect all the drinks out of the mini fridges in front of the registers.
