A.N. The CDC experience will be done in two episodes rather than one (like on the show). The night at the CDC, dinner, drinking, all of that will be in this episode. Btw I'm not actually sure if they ate spaghetti, I just know that when Rick took a bite it looked like he slurped some noodles, so I took some creative liberty. And it also will help out in the future when a certain couple invites Daryl over... Anyways! Next episode will be the great escape- also known as the "season finale", and then Season 2 will begin. Enjoy!

There's a moment of hesitation where everyone stood momentarily blinded, before they carefully made their way into the building. Daryl followed Shane's orders and kept an eye on the back of the group, ensuring everyone was making their way in safely. Once everyone was inside, Daryl sent a quick look around amazed by how huge the building was.

Oliver was in the same boat as his friend, gazing around in awe. The adults obviously didn't share the same opinion, looking around in caution as they crept further into the room. The moment of silence was interrupted by a gun cocking, which had every weapon raising in retaliation.

Everyone turned to see a man, who clearly had no idea how to use the gun in his grasp. Daryl could see that the man was nervous, which could be even more dangerous than if he was comfortable with his weapon. Nervousness caused stupid decisions, something Daryl had learned at a young age.

"Anybody infected?" The man questioned, moving the gun slightly. Daryl's heart was beating so hard he felt as if everyone in the room could hear it.

"One of our group was. He didn't make it." Rick gasped out, sending a wave of confusion over the two teenagers in the back. They made quick eye contact, alerting each other that they both agreed that was unnecessary information.

"Why are you here? What do you want?" The unknown man asks, walking a bit closer to the group. Elodie placed a hand on Daryl's arm when he tensed up, giving him a quick squeeze of reassurance.

"A chance." Rick adjusts the hold he has on his gun as he responds. He stares the man down as he continues to get closer, still holding the firearm awkwardly.

"That's asking an awful lot these days." The man says with an odd look on his face, that Daryl can't decipher. The boy doesn't like that the guy is getting closer, especially since he can't get a read on him.

Rick tilts his head in thought, "I know." They all watch as the man stares at each of them for about a minute straight, in tense silence. As the man walks closer he begins to speak once again.

"You all submit to a blood test. That's the price of admission." He waits until Rick gives his agreement before explaining what they need to do. "You got stuff to bring in, you do it now. Once that door closes, it stays closed."

Daryl and Oliver back up quickly when the man starts walking to them faster, but let out a sigh of relief when he meets Rick's pace. Oliver sends his friend a look of unease, neither of them quite trusting this random man.

Rick, Shane, Glenn, and T-Dog go out to get the bags, and Daryl and Dale close the door once they're back in. The group watches as the unknown man speaks to a small device, which sends the shutters back down over the entrance. Rick and the doctor introduce themselves, both very tense. Daryl doesn't like this Edwin Jenner guy.

Daryl has never rode in an elevator but he can say that he without a doubt hates them. He feels way too much like a caged animal, not to mention the fact that they're all stuffed in this box like a can of sardines. He's stuffed in the very back next to Oliver, with Glenn and Mrs. Elodie in front of them.
