Ella's vision came back to her. All of those awful things. All of those things that pointed back at Cruz. Cruz. Cruz and his red eyes and fangs. Why did he have red eyes? Why did all of this happen?! Why.. am I here?
Ella pondered everything as she saw the whole room. There were no chairs or tables. Seth was there playing.. solitaire? The Fuck!? Ella thought. Psycho kidnapped us and Seth decides to play solitaire? It's not even a good game!
Ella walked over to Seth. "You been up?! And you didn't wake me?!" Ella screamed. Seth stopped his card game and looked over to Ella. Seth sighed and shrugged and started shuffling his cards. Ella was reminded of the news, where tarot card ladies were always getting roasted and made fun of.
"I've been only playing Solitaire if that makes you feel better," Seth said, as he finished shuffling. Ella decided to sit next to him on the floor and watched as he spread the deck in his hand. "Pick a card, any card" Seth told Ella, slowing his words and emphasizing others.
Ella, even though she couldn't see the number or the symbols of the cards, closed her eyes and clumsily grabbed one. Ella turned around the card. The card was Ace but she didn't know the suit. She wasn't that good at card games so she never recognized the suits.
"What card is it?" Seth asked,
"An ace,"  Ella answered,
"Ace... "
"Hole, "
Seth gave her a dumb sarcastic look. "Haha so funny. Just let me look at it, " Seth sassed. He looked over Ella's shoulder. He smiled but not a cheerful 'Well this is predicting we'll be safe and get to pick flowers in a flower field like a little girl. '' smile.
"What? Is it good?" Ella stuttered,
"Do you believe that death and misfortune is good?" Seth hissed, she realized that smile was a 'We're doomed and I don't care about anything anymore'.
"Uhm no? Why?" Ella asked even though she didn't want to,
"It's an Ace of Spades. Spades usually represent Death and Misfortune so... we're doomed!" Seth cheered in a sarcastic voice.
Ella gripped harder on the card. Death? This has to be a joke! She reasoned with herself but, deep inside she knew. She didn't know what these people were capable of. But hey, these were just dumb cards. Yeah. Dumb cards.
Seth sassily grabbed the card and put it back in the deck. Seth scoot across from Ella. "This actually happened to my friend's son, Daniel when-" Seth started talking but Ella tuned him out.
She looked at her white, now red shirt. There was a message written in marker on the shirt pocket. It wrote 'Sorry about the blood!'.The hand writing though, was familiar. Like a nauseating feeling like she knew who wrote it but she didn't remember.
She felt something in her shirt pocket. Something different.. Ella grabbed the inside of her pocket and found a... Vile? "What the hell?" Ella slowly said which cut Seth out of his story. The vile was a reddish brown with hints of red specs like pepper flakes.
"What do you think it is?" Seth asked,
"Probably the death the card was talking about," Ella answered,
"Hey! Don't mock prophecies or they'll come extra true!"
"You can't die twice Seth. You should know this by now Sherlock Holmes,"
Ella stood up from anger then Seth followed suit. Seth pouted his arms and turned his head. It was his dramatic way of saying, 'Shut up'. Seth turned around but before he could, he snatched the bottle from Ella. He didn't trust her with a device that could possibly kill her.
What if she snaps and tries to kill me!? Seth reasoned with himself, she seemed distraught over the little thought of the tarot cards, what else could she do? Ella gave him a look but didn't fight back.
At the door, there was immediate sound like someone was unlocking it. Seth looked panic as he gripped on the vile. Seth ushered Ella to lay down and act asleep as he slipped the vile into her shirt pocket.
"Doing an autopsy? Dang is she already dead?" A familiar voice behind Seth said. Seth turned around to see Cruz. He seemed different. Maybe it was the mood or upsetting setting they are in. Maybe it the red eyes and fangs.
"No. I was making sure she was still asleep."  Seth answered,
"Oh, weird but okay. So how do you feel?" Cruz asked, sounding like he wants to start an argument,
"Terrible. It got worse knowing you started this, "
"Listen. This won't ruin you, it'll save you. As well as I'm not the ventriloquist with the strings. I'm like a mere puppet.. " Cruz walked next to Ella and across from Seth, "Like you~" He sang in pity.
Seth was taken back. How can Cruz be so blunt but yet so vague? Seth looked away from Cruz. A masked gaurd stood next to the door. The door is probably locked. Besides he can't leave Ella alone.
"Aww, can't Seth find a way out? The intellectual man finally having to give up and accept his fate as a vampire? " Cruz teased. Seth rolled the cuffs of his jackets, knowing he was about to be get attacked.
Seth started to back away from Cruz and Ella. He knew he couldn't fight so he'd run. Seth started to sprint and run towards the door. Seth looked at the man. The masked man just stood there like a cat waiting to catch their prey.
Cruz walked around Ella and ran to Seth. Seth was pinned to the door by Cruz. "I didn't expect to bite yet. Well, farewell Seth!" Cruz cheered as his fangs seemed to get longer.
Seth tried to fight back when Ella rose her head. She tried to scream but it too late.
Seth was bitten.
