I got lost in him, and it was the kind of lost that's exactly like being found.                                                                                                                                                     - Claire Lazebnik

Sunlight; it's tremendously bright through Maverick's window. To my good fortune, it isn't as warm as he is. With an arm draped over me, I twist over to face his sleeping figure that looks completely worn out from the night we had.

And if he's this hammered, I can only imagine how depleted my body is.

Giving Maverick my back again, I reach to the bed side for my phone. I only sent mum a quick text last night, and I'm sure she replied but I was a little too occupied.

Mum: Oh? Well, be safe. 😉

No surprise, she new exactly what I was doing here. Technically who I was doing.

Checking some other messages and emails, I twist back to Maverick. He's still asleep, but I don't mind, it's a chance for me to stare at him without his stupidly addicting smug smirk teasing me.

With a delicate finger, I reach forward and brush some of his tousled hair off his forehead. I travel it down to the bridge of his nose, hoping not to wake him for a little moment longer so I can take him in.

But as I thought he was sleeping, in a swift movement Maverick is awake and has pulled me on top of him. "You were awake?!" I exclaim.

He laughs. "It's close to nine in the morning, I usually wake up at 5AM. Course I was awake before you."

"Arse," I say with a smile. "You were just enjoying me playing with your hair, weren't you?"

"Mhm." He hums.

I roll my eyes. "Should've known, you were too still and peaceful."

His grin only widens, before he pulls me down for a kiss. Rolling us over so he's on top of me, I hold his face in my hands as our kisses remain slow, loving like the calm Summer morning.

"You doing anything tonight?" He asks me.

"Not if you have something planned." I answer, leaning up and kissing his jaw.

He breathes heavily from my lips on his skin. "Good," he says. "I'm taking you out, on an actual date this time. Or at least we're actually calling it that."

"Oh, so that re-match of pool was a date?"

Mavericks smirks, then divulges his face into my neck. I laugh at the soft but ticklish sensation as he holds me close to him. "You don't talk about what you're wearing underneath your clothes on something that ain't a date."
