21: Some celebrations

I sigh in relief after my shower, Man I needed that. I head downstairs and check the fridge for anything inside of it. I see leftovers from the other night in a plastic container, that'll do. I throw it in the microwave for 2 minutes and hop on my phone.

I text Ajax a dumb meme I found earlier. He sends me something even worse. Good god man. I chuckle at his reply, seeing him typing something. "So what even happened dude? Everytime I tried to visit I'd get turned down by some blonde chick." He asks. Guess that was Sarah being overprotective.

"I had a date and it went bad. Fuckin slipped and hit my head badly." I reply back. Can't really tell him I went with Sarah and almost watched her get molested and me killing a dude. Speaking of which I'll have to ask what happened after that with Scarlett. Hopefully Sarah being present in case it goes wrong.

He texts back "ah, well good to know you're back to being good. Ttyl man I got a siege game loaded up." I close the app, and see my messages and remember Janice. She really wanted me to read that pdf she sent didn't she? I've got time now I suppose. I open her text message and tap on the pdf.

And nothing loads. It's blank. Do I need to download it? I tap the download button and open my files app, but even there it's blank. The hell? Maybe I should text her about it, see if I'm missing something. "Hey, it's (Y/N). I tried loading it and got no results, it's blank. Did you perhaps send me the wrong thing?"

She reads it after a minute, then replies. "give me a moment. im really busy right now." I shrug and send a thumbs up emoji. Putting my phone down I head to the microwave taking my food out. "ahhh, good ole Stromboli." I moan fruitily placing it onto the table.

Janice POV:

I put my phone down after his text. Of course the pdf didn't fucking work. I'm waiting in my office, Mary sitting across from me while checking her phone. "Where the hell is she? I told her asap didn't I?" I say annoyed and Mary scoffs. "Relax, you probably caught her at a bad time being a civilian. She can't really stroll up here without her suit on after all." I sigh sinking deeper into my chair.

Finally a knock at the door happens, we sit up in our chairs. "Come in!" I say with it opening and Star enters it. She sees Mary and smiles at her, "Oh hey Mary moo!" She approaches us and takes the other seat next to her. "Hey Starry!" Mary replies fist bumping her. They turn back to me and I nod smiling at them.

"So, Star. I wanted to commemorate you officially joining us, but wasn't sure about how to do so.. but I figured out what to do!" I say grinning and reach into my desk pulling out an envelope. I slide it over to her, she watches it slide over eyes full of wonder. I nod and she takes it opening it. "Oh my gosh! Janny!" She shouts almost jumping out of her seat.

Mary leans over and gasps. "You can't be serious!" She states and I chuckle. "That's right, girls trip to Hawaii. I've got it approved with the upper management." I fold my arms across each other smirking smugly. Mary giggles patting Star's back. But Star loses her smile a bit.

I raise an eyebrow, "What's up? Not what you wanted?" I ask and she shakes her head. "That's not it, it's just. I recently started seeing someone, and I don't think I'd wanna leave them alone so soon." She says and I realize what she means. "(Y/N)." I say and she glances up at me in shock. "How did you?" She asks and I chuckle.

"We all know after Scarlett's report. Bedsides, I'm the reason he's not in debt right now." Mary giggles and Sarah sighs. "Ah, right. Thank you for that by the way! He was a bit worried about it." Star replies hugging Mary. "It's okay, I was able to convince the guys upstairs it could be a good charity publicity cause."

I cough getting their attention again, "However Star, while I did say girls trip. I forgot to mention, that he is included." Stars eyes widen even more. "However, he'd be our servant for luggage and related things. He would need to agree to that." I say and she nods. "Yeah, I'm sure he will! Is Scarlett coming too?!" She asks. I glance at Mary, her reciprocating.

"Scar, cannot come. As the upper management said we need atleast one of the big time heroes around in case things go wrong. I'm sorry Star." Her eyes fall a bit, but nods in agreement. "It makes sense. I'll talk with (Y/N) and see if he's down to come along. I'd love to see him in a swimsuit!" She giggles to herself.

Right. Because he's SOO much to look at. I roll my eyes, whatever girl. You've got interesting tastes I'll say. but, it's not as if I have anyone right now. so I can't really judge her much. oh well. if he treats her right and doesn't care about her status then he's a dime a dozen. last guy I was with only cared for my money. dick.

"Alright well let me know what he says, but that's all I wanted to talk about. Once again, congrats on joining us Star!" I say standing up. She walks over and hugs me, "Of course of course! You girls are like my sisters so I'd naturally wanna be with you more!" I smile and pat her back. She hugs Mary too and leaves the office. With us slowly following her.

"So. Her and (Y/N) huh? Lucky girl." Mary says and I sigh. "You too? What do you girls see in him?" I ask and she turns to me, "What do you not see in him? He's kind, decent looking, and most importantly he doesn't seem to care about us as heroes and instead as people." She answers tilting her head slightly.

I sigh, "You've known him for less than 3 days, Same with Star. Don't you think you're rushing feelings and projecting onto him?" She stops for a moment at my question. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense. But I just have this, feeling... He looks comforting to be around. I don't know, it's new for me." She admits and I shrug.

"To each their own Mary. But since he's already taken, you might wanna back off. Lest Sarah tries to pummel you." I warn her and she nods. Sarah chuckles in the distance overhearing us. "I wouldn't pummel her! Just have a chat is all." Turning to us waiting for us to catch up.

"Besides, she's not the only one apparently interested in him!" She says giggling. I frown at that, "What do you mean?" I ask fearing the response. She turns to me smiling, "Me and Scarlett talked before coming here, since we're super close I figured we could try sharing him after all!" I stop in my tracks, glancing over at Mary warily.

"Star, there's something you should know."
