50: Endgame

A/N: Alright so for those unaware I made an update chapter asking you guys what I'll do with this going forward. So this is the end of this story, however expect a rewrite or something similar afterwards.

I take a deep breath calming down after a few minutes. Noticing Ajax sighing after glancing up from his phone over to me, he nods and I stand up approaching him. "So. What's next?" I ask and he eyes the girls for a second. "We sabotage the lab, making it unusable and hopefully stopping their progress. My contact says the coast will be clear later tonight." He remarks turning back to me and I nod. "But we can't bring too much attention, so who do you think will be the best fit to bring along?"

I look over at the girls, their mixed faces of worry, neutrality, and slight suspicion meeting mine. "Crescent is the smartest and Star is the strongest, so if things go sideways we can have a good duo." I reply as he looks to them in thought but shakes his head. "If things go sideways we need you out of the picture, Angela seems to be the one who brought us here so she's necessary."

Crescent nods looking at Angela, "Smart, take my spot. I trust Star to get the job done." Her statement causes Star to smile lightly looking at her. I furrow my eyebrows though, "Wait, if it's just a simple trashing job why am I needed?" My question snags Ajax's attention again. The others nod looking over at him, some with suspicion again.

"Yeah, why is he? You randomly show up, drop all these bomb shells and then expect us to follow along? How is this not a trap?" Janice interrogates causing Ajax to put his hands up defensively. "I understand that, great points. I want him along because he has the right to know. However, I've been protecting his ass long before you girls were around. But if he doesn't trust me likewise, then I can leave." He says looking over at me for confirmation.

I trusted Jay, but he backstabbed us hard. What is my trust worth anymore compared to these beings that can throw me to the sun and back? He did reveal Jay's colors though, and he's been my best friend for years. Fuck it. wonder how many times that statement is gonna be a bad call?

I sigh and nod at him, "I trust you, And what do you mean right to know? You never finished your statement earlier about my mom as well." He glances away for a moment guiltily, then back to me. "The truth of the virus, but I don't have everything yet. Your mom is alive, but I'm unsure where. My sources lead to Jay, but it was a dead end." I blink slowly furrowing my eyebrows again.

He places a hand on my shoulder grabbing my attention again, "But I promise you when we get back and I get my final pieces of information, I'll tell you everything. But first relax until we go, you look like you need it." I sigh accepting the truth, turning around heading to my assigned bedroom with Crescent following me as the "guard".

"(Y/N)." She says before I enter the room having me look over at her. She glances down at the ground before up to me again, "I've got a bad feeling about this. I know you trust him, but I'm unsure about his source. If this is a trap, it might be the end. Please. Be careful." She frets surprising me, that's kinda out of the blue for her isn't it? I smile assuringly at her, "I've got Angie to get me out of there, so I wouldn't worry." She smiles lightly and nods, I close the door and fall onto the bed sighing.

An hour passes with me thinking of everything that's happened. So much in such little time, it's hard to keep track of it all anymore. Wish I could restart, maybe have things go way better and not be spending my life being guarded by multiple hero's. Most of them wanting to turn my hips into a graveyard via snu snu, heh. I guess I still got some of my humor left.

A knock at my door happens with it opening slightly, Crescent peering in with her Ruby eye piercing me. "Looks like it's time." She says causing me to stand up, putting my shoes on and heading outside. Ajax, Angela, and Sarah are ready to go, with the others wishing them luck on the mission. Janice approaches me and hugs me, "Be careful hun." She whispers kissing my cheek lightly. I smile lightly and pat her head. "I'll be back in no time."
