It is night now, Dustin is observing through his binoculars while Steve, Robin and Natalie looked on the rooftop
"Erica, do you copy?"
"Mm-hmm. I copy. Are you nerds in position or what?"
"Yeah, we're in position. It's all quiet here, so you've got the green light."
"Green light, Roger that. Commence Operation Child Endangerment."
"Can we maybe not call it that?"
"See you on the other side. Nerds."
Natalie let out a huge sigh of frustration.
Erica made her way through the vent and managed to reach towards the end.
"All right, nerds. I'm there."
"Do you... Do you see anything?"
"Yeah, I see those boring boxes, you four are excited about."
"Any guards?"
"Negative."
"Booby traps?"
"If I could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps, wouldn't they?"
"Thank you for that."
"I'm in."
Erica kicked the vent open and left her backpack on the ground. She opened the door looking up their surprised faces. Steve ran a hand to his hair. "Oh God"
"Free Ice cream for life".
The four ran inside as the door closed behind them, not knowing what would happen next.
"You guys were so determined, there are only these boring cardboard boxes." Erica said in a sassy tone.
Steve nodded. "Yep, pretty much"
They looked around, each box had a panda symbol on it. Steve grabbed onto a box and shook it. He placed it in the middle of the room, there is nothing but a sound. "Anybody got anything sharp so I can open it."
Dustin grabbed a pocketknife and handed it to him. Steve cut open the box just to reveal silver. They lean closer to get a better look.
"That's not Chinese food. Uh, maybe you guys should, you know, stand back."
Robin, Erica and Natalie move back but Dustin just stays there. "No"
"Just... Just step back, okay?"
Steve put his arms on the box and on Dustin, but he wouldn't budge
"No"
He moved his hand to his chest, but Dustin still wouldn't step back . "
"No"
"Step back. Seriously."
"No! No!"
"If you die, I die." Dustin said like he actually meant it
The four just stayed silent, Steve just shrugged his shoulders, brushing it off at the moment." "Okay"
Smoke releases from the box, Steve grabbed a green cylinder that looked like it had chemicals inside. The five stared at it bewildered.
What the hell?" Steve muttered under his breath
"What is that?" Robin questioned
Their attention was on the tube but all of sudden the room started to move. Dustin is the first to notice " Was that just me, or did the room move?"
"Oh, it's defiantly not just you. What the hell" Natalie looked around the room confused
"Booby traps." Erica whispered
Robin grabbed onto the green tube "You know what, let's just grab that and go."
Dustin approaches the button, confused
"Which one do I press, Erica?"
"Just press the damn button, nerd."
"Which one? I'm pressing the button, okay?"
Steve pushed Dustin out of the way, looking at multiple buttons
"Just open the... Press the other button."
The two ladies urgered them to get away
"Out of the way so she can press the button." Robin said
" Which one is it, there's got to be a button?" Natalie shouted
The lights started to act up, they were flickering like crazy. It was at that moment Natalie knew they weren't going to make it out.
"Would you stop?" Dustin argued.
"Would you let me just do it?" Steve fought back
"Just open the door!" Robin shouted
Suddenly, the elevator went down and wouldn't stop. Natalie felt her stomach drop, she grabbed onto a box while her other hand was on Robins shoulder. They all started screaming, Steve looked around, already accepting their doom.
"Oh Shit"
A/N: Hey I just wanted to say Thank you for 100 reads, I started this fic around April, and I can't believe how much love it got. I took a break from writing for 3 months until Kenzie suggested on TikTok to write a Robin fic, and I'm like hmmm not a bad idea. I also kind of hesitated since I'm not gay, I don't know how it's like to like the same gender and didn't want accidently to write something that may be offensive. But then again Alice Oseman is Aro-ace, and she wrote Heartstopper. So, I did it, and look where we are now, Natalie is most popular OC on my page. Again, I just wanted to say Thank You <3
