Struggling

Leah's POV:
I could tell Liv was still struggling, but the girls being here was the perfect distraction for her and it's the first time I've seen her real smile in the past 24 hours.

After we decided to finish up with the games and watch a movie, Liv settled herself beside me and cuddled into my chest. The movie was mostly background noise as we all just chatted, and I soon realised that Liv had fallen asleep. My phone had started to vibrate so I picked it up to see I had a call from Ingrid so I answered the phone.

"How is she?", she asked straight away as I looked to the sleeping girl in my chest. Once they found out what happened, they wanted to fly straight over but they had a match tonight so it wasn't possible.

"I'm not really sure to be honest, Ingrid, the girls have come over and it was a good distraction for her but that's all it was, a distraction", I said quietly as a few of the girls were looking at Liv with pained expressions.

"Our flight is in an hour"

"You're coming?"

"Of course we're coming, Leah", she snapped slightly before she sighed, "sorry, sorry I didn't mean to snap"

"It's fine, I just thought because of the match tonight you wouldn't be coming today"

"We wanted to fly out as soon as we could, Lucy and Keira will pick us up from the airport and fly back with us at the end of the week", she said.

"She'll be happy to see you guys", I said as I ran my fingers through Liv's hair. We both said our goodbyes before I hung up.

"That was Ingrid, her, Mapi, and Alexia are flying out tonight", the room was pretty solemn right now and no one really knew what to say.

"Sorry", Katie mumbled before she stood up and left the room with Caitlin following after her.

"She'll be okay right?", Beth asked as Viv grabbed her hand to comfort her.

"She will be, I just don't know when", I said quietly, fighting back my own emotions as Katie and Caitlin returned.

"Sorry, I just-"

"Don't apologise for your feelings, Katie", I said softly as she wiped at her cheeks, the rest of the girls trying to control their emotions.

"I don't think I've ever been this furious at anything, it's actually physically painful to think about what happened to Liv", Katie says as she fidgeted with her hands and Caitlin placed her hand on her knee.

"I get how you feel, I've never felt a sudden urge to beat someone to a pulp as much as I did once I found out what happened", Beth said quietly as Liv started to stir in her sleep but settled against once she got comfy.

"We'll head out and give you 2 space", Less said as she stroked some of Liv's hair out of her face, leaning down to place a kiss on her forehead.

"Thank you guys for coming, I know Liv appreciated it", I said as they all said it was no problem, saying bye and that they would see us tomorrow at training.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep", Liv said, her voice raspy with sleepiness as she rubbed her eyes.

"It's okay, let's go to bed, yeah?", I said as she nodded and I followed her to our bedroom. I watched as she walked into the bathroom and closed the door. She came out about 5 minutes later with her hair in a messy bun as she grabbed a pair of joggers and a hoodie to change into and climbed into the bed. I got myself changed and then climbed into bed beside her.

"Liv-"

"I don't want to talk about it, Le", she cut me off softly as she turned on her side away from me.

"Can I cuddle you?", I asked hesitantly.

"You never have to ask", she said softly as I moved closer to her and wrapped my arm around her waist. She grabbed my hand and interlaced our fingers, a silent reminder that we're okay.

I wake up around 8am to an empty bed. I grow concerned as I make my way downstairs until I see Liv standing at the window that looks out onto the street with a glass of wine in her hand.

"Liv?", I called for her softly as she jumps a little at my voice but keeps her gaze on the window.

"What do you think he would have done if you and the police didn't show up?", she asked catching me off guard.

"Liv, you shouldn't think about that-"

"It's all I can think about, Leah. He drugged me, he wanted me on my own and-", she stopped herself as she shook her head, finishing her glass of wine before walking to the kitchen and pouring herself another.

"This isn't helping", I said as her phone started to ring and she stared at it, nothing but anger in her eyes.

"I know that, but what else am I supposed to do", she mumbled with teary eyes as she slid her phone towards me and I looked at the caller ID. HM Prison Belmarsh.

"Has he tried to contact you before today?", I asked, my body heating up with anger at the thought of him talking to her and having the audacity to contact her from prison.

"That's the first, but it won't be the last", she said, taking another sip of wine as the door went. I left to answer the door, seeing Mapi, Ingrid, and Alexia. Ingrid text me and let me know that Lucy and Keira would stop by tomorrow, not wanting to overwhelm Liv.

"She's in the kitchen", I said with a sigh as they gave me small smiles and walked past me as I closed the door. I followed them through as I watched Liv's eyes light up slightly at the sight of her friends. Obviously she's struggling, but the added weight of her father trying to contact her from prison isn't helping. I watched as Liv hugged each of them with a small smile on her face.

"How do you feel about going out for lunch?", Ingrid asked softly as she gently grabbed the glass from Liv's hand and set it in the sink. She nodded and walked over to me, wrapping her arms around me as I kissed her head.

"Are you coming with?", she mumbled as I glanced at the other 3.

"I have something to do first, but if you're still out then I'll come and meet you guys", I suggested as Liv pulled back and smiled a little at me. I placed a soft kiss on her forehead as she retreated upstairs to get changed.

"What do you have to do?", Mapi asked suspiciously as I grabbed my keys and out on my shoes.

"Look after her until I get back?", I said softly as they nodded but noticed how I avoided the question.

"Always", Alexia said before I walked towards the front door and left.
