[ viii ] | Recom Sharpening

     Kai smirked as the chains snapped, falling at his feet. He tossed the pliers at Cole and squeezed between the gap. Cole came in soon after and checked his phone again,
    "Soo instructions say we should talk to him and uhmm... Convince him to come with us. Also given that we were supposed to be suspended and cannot be seen in grounds; which is just what we violated just now-"
     "Who said I'm following instructions? And besides, I never thought I'd have to sneak in here again after the last time..."

     "What's last time?" Cole raised an eyebrow, going ahead of Kai and checking to see if the coast was clear. Kai kicked a soft drink can at his foot, letting it bounce off the wall of the back where houses of campus, just in front of where they had entered. "Well, I forgot my shorts in the lockers in my first year, so I sneaked in there at night to get it back...," Kai raised an eyebrow at Cole who seemed to have a hard time holding back a laugh. "What? I had a tournament the next day!"

     "Right, right" Cole chuckled. Kai grinned behind his disguise and continued before Cole without any real regard to being seen, sunglasses and a baseball cap is almost unrecognizable, if it worked in movies it shouldn't be a problem. "Let's go through the cafeteria back entrance, it almost never gets locked" Kai pointed and Cole nodded. 

    "You know, it's great be to working together with you-"

    Kai stopped abruptly and sharply turned to Cole, their chests against each other and noses only inches apart, "Listen here, we are not a team; I'm stuck with you and that's as worse as it gets. After two weeks I never even want to be in the same room as you"

    "Do you hate me?"

    "Yes!"

    Kai sighed and pushed Cole by his chest as a group of students passed. None of them caught Kai's eyes so he shrugged it off. He shook his head for the hotness in his cheeks to die down but didn't seem to have an effect. Cole to ask that very obvious question got him on edge, he hated being messed with and Cole was doing just that; trying to get him railed up with stupid questions.

    "I don't need anyone to back me up. I'm fine on my own; get that inside your thick skull" Kai hissed as he pushes through the unlocked doors and into the main cafeteria. Cole didn't say anything and Kai ignored his gut feeling to even look at him.
     Just when Kai that thought that they could've been a team, his pride swallowed him and his original motives sunk back; not here to make friends and not here to work as a team. Just to get answers and leave Ninjago City when he gets the chance.

     They wondered the halls for a few minutes, getting a few strange looks from lone students at random and hiding somewhere when a lecturer was in sight. 
     "Where is that twerp?" Kai gittered his teeth as he checked a few empty halls. "Maybe we should check the sport halls. And probably excuse him to talk"

    Kai rolled his eyes and didn't reply. Only his pace quickened.
    Turns out Cole was correct and Jay was doing several pushups on the side of the badminton court setup, a few other people playing while he was huffing as he lifted himself off the ground, his face red and sweat dripping from his curly ginder hair. Kai scoffed, Lloyd must be mistaken; how can he trust this prick to be his partner and let him join? Jay was skinny and a rather introverted kid from what Kai knew.

     "Okay we're leaving" Kai turned but Cole kept his leg in front to block him. Kai shot a glare at Cole, only to meet his eyes again and rethink, "Fine. We'll catch him after his practices" Kai said, sticking his hands in his pockets and leaning on the wall, glancing sharply at Jay finishing up his pushups to join playing again.

     "Do you trust them?" Zane quipped at his desk. Lloyd raised an eyebrow, only pausing breify to consider it. "Yes, I do. Kai is the most trustworthy person I know" the blonde replied, resuming to swipe through a few files on his desk.
     "I mean, do you trust him- both of them, to not betray us for them?"
