Kai woke up as Cole tightened his seat buckle. "Turbulence" Cole simply said. Kai blinked, he had dozed off about 3 hours ago. Cole had tied his hair back but a few strands still fell over his face. "We have 9 more hours" Kai just grunted as his vision cleared. He looked out the window, it was daylight outside, he could only see the light blue sky, no clouds, so sign of the ground. He didn't particularly hate flying but he felt a bit uneasy.
"What happened 10 years ago?" Kai asked after another few minutes of silence. It got Cole's attention and his amber eyes widened and his shoulders tensed. Kai raised an eyebrow, he clearly had the other's attention now. "hm?" He leaned forwards. "Well uhm...-" Cole reached for his pocket and got out a ring. Kai gasped, he recognized it and he never thought he would see it again. "H- how did you get that?"
"I didn't get it; It's my mum's wedding ring." Cole smiled softly, his eyes dimming at the ring between his fingers. "No no, that's Lane's"
"You remember him?" Cole said, surprised. "Of course I do! He and I were...," Kai's face reddened, "-friends"
"Friends?" Kai nodded. "Anyways, he left and we never spoke after that, that asshole"
"Maybe be had a reason" Cole avoided Kai's eye and looked away. Kai was getting frustrated now, he grabbed Cole's dress shirt collar with both his hands and look him in his amber gaze, "What you're telling me isn't making any sense! Cole, why do you have Lane's lucky charm?!" a tear fell out of corner of Kai's eye as he clenched his jaw and let go of Cole's open collar. He was sure people heard him. Cole said nothing, Kai gave up, annoying him... didn't matter anymore. Cole had put up with him but what he said a few weeks back hurt Kai a bit, hurt his pride, his ego cracked.
"Kai I..." Cole's gaze hardened and he slapped off Kai's hand. "We seriously can't be having this argument" He sighed and unbuckled himself. "I'm going to the rest room" He didn't even look his way and walked away. Kai sat back in his seat, he refused to accept defeat, Cole wasn't telling him about where Lane was, he knew- Kai was sure.
"Damnit" He exhaled and leaned back with his hand over his eyes.

4.3 miles from Buenos Aires
"I'm going to the toilet" Kai muttered. "You okay?" Nya asked, her brow furrowing. Kai nodded half heartedly and walked away. He felt eyes over his shoulder and he looked back but couldn't find anyone.
He locked himself in a stall and took out a little touchpad about the size of a small phone and flipped it open. He took a short data cable from his pocket and plugged it into the device. He took his phone from his jacket pocket and connect the two, completing his makeshift signal indicator. He had a plan in mind before they took off from Ninjago city; see what Alex was up to.
He adjusted the frequency on the flip screen and held up his phone to get a signal. He closed the toilet seat and stood on it and reached. The line of audio coming through crackled and the screen vibrated, "Bingo" Kai grinned and screwed in the cable tighter. He held his breath as he tried again this time he heard the voice he wanted. The radio had a radius of about a mile and a half so Alex was relatively close by. Skylor had said they would be safe but Kai was starting to question her.
