      Kai stared at the ceiling, his arms and legs spread out and only his right fist over his chest. He exhaled sharply and closed his eyes. It was stupid but Kai didn't know what to make of it.

       He knew about Cole's mum because he was told, he had tried to not pay any attention but his throat felt sour now that everyone knew about it. Cole was such a a sweet guy even if Kai didn't want to admit it. He felt bad for acting the way he did, which rarely happened with him. The best he could do is avoid the topic and just continue on with his newfound training.

       Nya was right, in a way anyway. Their parents had been connected to his group? Team? Whatever it was. And that they were expecting them to see out Kai and Nya, which happened all too soon. Kai was still suspicious about how they found Lloyd and Nya and how they had agreed so fast, and only thinking about Kai after. He clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes at the ceiling, thinking about Lloyd knocking him out.

        And Zane made Kai feel uncomfortable. What was even his deal?? Who was he and why was he there? And the sharp looks he threw Kai's way was annoying. But when his gaze softened Kai did feel a sense of security around him, even if he avoided thinking about it.
        The brunette turned on his bed and sighed on his sheets. Just then his phone screen lit up in his hands. He checked the ID and his eyes widened, immediately turning his phone over.

       He took a deep breath, he can't avoid this mess forever can he? He turned it over and exhaled sharply through his nose. He answered the phone and kept it to his ear, getting up and crossed his legs over himself on the bed,

        "Hello Alex"

         Cole eyed his phone for the forth time in the past ten minutes, nibbling on his fingernails with anticipation. He hoped that he would at least get a text from Kai, even better; a call. But he had just gotten his hopes up.
          Kai was obviously all too out of reach, a little hope did come back that  night but he didn't seem to want to talk about it after that.

        Cole sighed and threw himself on a chair and took the Polaroid he was given. Seeing his mother's face again gave Cole's heart a flutter and he couldn't help crack a grin. Her black hair was definitely inherited by him and her green eyes were as wide and energetic as he had remembered. His eyes shifted to Maya; whom he had met before. Only he had no idea that they did have a friendship many years ago. Maya also looked as youthful as she was pictured, a gentle smile and a kind glance at her friend, totally unlike her son.

         A question of how this ended up with Skylor still bothered Cole, making him furrow his brow. He looked closer, there were a few blurs behind them but no faces were recognizable. Cole frowned and set the picture aside, slumping further into his seat. He looked at his phone again and decided to go to his Instagram to kill time. It would get his mind if the major of things.

        One of Kai's posts were the first on his page, which surprised Cole a bit. It was picture of them playing ruby that da with him throwing a water bottle at the back of Jay's head, the shorter boy's fall caught in mid air as Kai was bursting out laughing, his eyes shaded by a pair of sunglasses, it's reflection mirroring the sun and his phone screen. Cole noticed himself in the background with his wet hair being fixed by Nya, the girl having a mid chuckle. The boy grinned and liked the picture but immediately regretted it. He didn't want to look like he was stalking Kai's profile but he sort of was...

       He scrolled to the side, a few pictures with Kai, Lloyd and Nya. A picture of Zane coughing up sand and brushing his hair. Another with Skylor playing with everyone yada yada, good memories actually. The last one caught Cole's eye. He paused and blinked, his eyes not believing it. He scrolled back and forth to make sure it was the last one. He was starting at- well; himself! It was a nice picture of him, shirtless of course, with his black hair barely held back by a loose ponytail. The setting sun was on his side with contrasted him rather nicely as he should acknowledge himself. He had a hand on his hip, the other holding his own pair of shades.
