When she stepped into the small apartment she felt nailed to the floor as she watched him sit on Chifuyu's bed with the puppy in his lap. His black hair was tied back in a ponytail and his bronze coloured eyes glared at them when they stepped in but locked on her as soon as he noticed her. He resolutely got up, holding the pup in one arm and a few long strides put him right in front of her. "Damn, they got you good," he growled softly, squeezing her cheeks between his thumb and fingers as he turned her face left to right to get a better look at her wounds. She thought her heart was going to shatter as she stared up at him, tears welling up in her eyes.

"I'm Baji Keisuke," he said as he let her go. "This one's senpai," he said with a short nod at Chifuyu and he grinned wide.

Chifuyu squeezed himself in between them and shoved Baji back. "Get off her, you imbecile," he snarled. "Are you okay?" he asked, looking worryingly over his shoulder.

It still felt so surreal to get so close to them again, knowing him so well while he remembered nothing about her at all. She swallowed the lump in her throat and smiled at Chifuyu with a small nod before taking off her coat and shoes.

Baji squinted his eyes at her for a moment before looking back at Chifuyu and stuffing the puppy into his hands. "Who the hell does he think he is, showing up with a puppy, simply demanding I make it 'look pretty again'? He really is the biggest idiot," Baji complained, walking back into Chifuyu's room and falling onto the bed.

Chifuyu ignored him for a moment and held up the puppy. It was indeed the puppy they had rescued. Its white fur had been shaved back at places in order to clean the small wounds it had sustained. But its attitude was much brighter already as it wiggled in his hands trying to lick his face, causing its small ears to flap up and down. He cradled it in his arms. "Did Mikey pick this up at the emergency vet?" he asked as he walked into the room. Had Mikey seriously figured out where they had dropped off this pup that night?

Baji frowned angrily as he rolled to his side. "He called me, told me to meet him here because he had something he needed me for. He showed up on his bike with the pup stuffed inside his jacket, the moron. Before I could say anything he had squashed it into my hands saying I should take this stuff more seriously if I ever want to become a vet," he growled agitated.

Chifuyu couldn't resist laughing.

"Don't laugh!" Baji bellowed. "How am I supposed to patch that up?" he said, waving his hand at the puppy vaguely.

Chifuyu looked over his shoulder as Yuuna carefully stepped into the room, carrying the supplies they had picked up at the pet store on their way over. He frowned as he turned back to Baji. "Who is the vet in training supposed to be here? Go fill up the sink with warm water and then grab some towels," he instructed him firmly.

Baji raised an eyebrow as he glared up at him.

"This is your job, man. I'm not going to do it all for you," Chifuyu said angrily, kicking Baji against his leg to hurry him up as he melodramatically got up from the bed. As he watched Baji stomp off angrily to do as he was told he gestured Yuuna to come over as he sat down on his bed, holding out the puppy for her. She sat down next to him and as she took the puppy from him he noticed she was trembling a little. "I'm sorry, he can be so intense sometimes," he apologised in a whisper, glaring at the open bathroom door where Baji was rummaging for towels.

She laughed softly as she tried to contain the puppy that was trashing all over her now. "I'm just so happy he's alright," she said.

"Him or the puppy?" Chifuyu asked jokingly, as Baji was continuing to be incredibly rude and obstinate.
