Takemichi stuck out his arm to hold back Hinata as he quickly glanced around the corner. He turned back and sighed, whipping out his phone.
"Are they still there?" Hina asked quietly. After Takemichi had gotten a text from Chifuyu explaining their situation they had made their way over to their location as soon as they could. It was really exciting, but she could also feel his tension rise the nearer they got.
He nodded as he started typing a message. But he was interrupted as he got a call. He laughed softly as he stared at his phone screen for a moment before answering. "Don't tell me you have been digitally stalking her," he joked.
"After what happened last time I'm not letting her out of my sight," Mikey growled.
Takemichi could hear motorcycle engines in the background. "How do you even know if something is up?" He asked.
Hina held back her laughter as she looked at Takemichi.
"It was the first thing you asked about when you answered, so stop pulling my leg," Mikey answered cranky. "Why does this shit always happen when I'm not around?" He continued angrily.
Takemichi heard a sound of what seemed like metal tools being kicked across the floor. "Don't worry, we've got it covered," he bluffed.
"I see you are at the scene?" Mikey said.
Takemichi laughed as he shook his head. "This is not what that app is supposed to be used for, Mikey," he said.
"Are you alone?" Mikey continued, ignoring him.
Takemichi shook his head. "I'm here with Hina," he said, looking at her with a sincere smile.
"Are you an idiot? Don't get her involved!" Mikey spat at him from the other end of the line. More sounds of clattering tools sounded, with someone in the distance clearly telling him off.
"Don't worry, we're just checking if the guys that were following them are still there and if there's a back exit they can take," Takemichi said, holding the phone away from his ear a little.
"I'll handle this, stay put," Mikey said resolutely and he instantly hung up.
"What the-," Takemichi mumbled, staring at his phone a little baffled.
Hina laughed softly. "She must be really important to him," she said sincerely. "It's the same girl Naoto is on about all the time, right?" She asked curiously.
Takemichi laughed, a little apologetically, as he nodded. "I just realised you were never properly introduced, I'm sorry, Hina," he said.
She shook her head. "Don't worry about that, let's help them out of here," she said, flexing her biceps.
He laughed as he held her back by her coat. "Let's stay put until Mikey checks back in. He's right about not wanting to get you invol-," before he could finish his sentence his phone started beeping loudly. He quickly stepped back from the corner of the wall a little further, pulling Hina along with him. He checked his phone and was a little surprised to see the alert on his screen. Someone had hit the 'coming' button in their app and three orange dots were moving their way fast.
Hina glanced at his screen. "What's that?" She asked curiously.
Takemichi grinned. "Help is underway," he said softly, leaning back against the wall. "Let's wait for them to show up," he said.
"Who?" Hina asked, leaning against the wall too, letting herself sink against his shoulder.
"They are either in a car or by bike judging by their movement speed, so we'll find out soon," he said amused.
