Despite Mitsuya's atelier being packed with people it was eerily quiet apart from Izana who was softly tuning the old guitar that stood next to the couch. After Draken had brought Mikey back and Kisaki and Kakucho had been able to reel Izana back in they had gotten a stern earful by the youngest of them all. Kisaki had been furious with them, not only for the idiocy of using their app for stalking purposes, but also for the emotional immaturity they had displayed. He had been on call with Taiju outside for quite a while and none of them had dared to laugh while even Taiju was getting a proper scolding. After he had gotten back inside he had been out of breath because he got so worked up. It had been the final straw and all of them burst out laughing. It was a delicious, atmosphere cleansing kind of laughter and afterwards they exchanged understanding looks. But it obviously hadn't undone any of their actions.
And as the door to the atelier opened again, the consequences of their actions became clear. Takemichi stepped inside his lips pressed together tensely as he was followed in by Chifuyu.
Izana's strumming fell silent and he stared at his hands awkwardly.
Kisaki was about to step up to them but Chifuyu flicked away his hand as he walked straight past all of them. "Don't-," he said angrily, stopping in his tracks when he spotted Yuuna's phone lying next to Mitsuya's sewing machine.
"Chifuyu-," Mitsuya tried gently, but he was interrupted by Mikey who forced his way past him.
He resolutely stepped up to Chifuyu, grabbed his shoulder and turned him around forcefully.
Ready to take a punch Chifuyu braced himself but instead was pulled into a tight embrace.
"I'm sorry," Mikey said sincerely. "I have been an idiot," he continued, refusing to let Chifuyu go. "I am going to do better, I promise," he whispered.
"I'm not the only one you should be apologising to," Chifuyu said as he pulled himself free and pushed his hair out of his face.
"I know," Mikey said.
"Not just you," Chifuyu snapped.
"I know," Mitsuya answered.
"And me," Izana mumbled softly.
Takemichi and Kisaki exchanged a faint smile.
Chifuyu stared at them all, anger whirling in his chest still.
"Me too," Draken said as he got up and stepped up next to Mikey. "I was a royal ass," he nodded. "I apologise, Chifuyu," he said, lowering his head a little.
"You really fucking were!" Chifuyu roared at them. He couldn't help it, he had been caught in this ridiculous whirlpool of anger and panic for most of the day. It had taken so much self restraint to not go look for her.
"Come on," Draken said, shoving Mikey aside and holding up a block and a fist.
Chifuyu glared at them lividly.
"Get it out of your system," Draken said as he looked at him.
Chifuyu staggered back a little, reluctant to succumb to the whirlpool. He had tried so hard to remain composed and trust in Baji and, ultimately, in Yuuna too.
"She might never come back," Darken coaxed him and he braced himself quickly.
His teeth clenched and his eyes filled with tears of rage and fear he landed one blow after the other in Drakens closed blocks. He didn't care anymore. He was feeling so incredibly angry. All the pent up energy seemed to burst out of his seams.
Mikey watched them, his fists balled by his side and Mitsuya glanced at Izana who was unable to watch as Chifuyu raged against their immaturity. He was allowed this escape after trying more than any of them to stay strong for her. To be her peace.
