"What are you two doing?"
The familiar sound of Taehyung shocks Jisoo that she harshly pushes Jungkook away, causing the boy to stumble and fall on his butt as it is unexpected for him.
Jisoo gasps and immediately bends down to check on him. She didn't mean to push him that hard. "I'm so sorry. Can you get up?"
Sitting on the floor with the pained buttocks, Jungkook groans and raises his head to glower at her. "Do I look like I'm fine after that push?"
"I can't help it, okay? You're standing so close to me!" She yells at him and then takes the hand he's giving to her to help him get up. "And I said sorry."
Glancing at the two back and forth, Taehyung just stands there stiffly. He went out to take the call from important person and came back to see the two in such intimate position by the fridge.
Which provokes him further to get to know the status of their association.
He knows the cheeky and annoyingly friendly attitude of Jungkook since birth but Jisoo, she is not someone who interacts very often with someone, especially a guy.
But witnessing how she doesn't mind Jungkook getting close to her and making fun of her, confuses Taehyung.
"Oh, Taehyu- Tae, where did you go?" Jisoo turns her attention to Taehyung who hasn't spoken a word to them after that question.
"Out for a business call." He answers, his eyes boring into Jungkook who has his gaze firmly set on Jisoo. Licking his lips, Taehyung moves closer to Jisoo and puts his hand around her waist. "Why are you here? Done showering?"
Of course, the slight movement of his action doesn't go beyond Jungkook's eyes as he smirks in return.
Jisoo jumps a little when she feels his hand on her waist. It is actually strange and uncomfortable for her but she can't remove it away as there is a person here. "I wanted to drink water and came downstairs...and met him."
When Taehyung looks at him, and Jungkook whistles with a smirk. "Woah, scary. To be clear, I have no interest in girls with boyfriends." His eyes roam over Jisoo for a second. "You can rest assured if that's what you're trying to imply with that look."
Feeling suffocated by two brothers who seem like they don't get along at all, Jisoo smiles softly. "Tae, can I get water first? I'm really thirsty."
Taehyung breaks the glaring contest and leads her to the fridge to get a bottle for her.
Leaving behind with a wicked smirk, Jungkook stares at the two for a moment before he goes back to his room.
This mansion is no longer boring, it seems.
And Jeon Jungkook loves to create troubles.

As she said, Jisoo takes the bedside by the window and tries to lay on the soft and huge mattress that she has never ever been on before. Everything is so unreal from her wardrobe to the place she is living in. She still can't get used to the changes, as it is a miracle for her. From a tiny and shabby apartment to a luxury mansion. She always stares at the differences in awe.
Taehyung also awkwardly scratches his neck before he gets on the bed carefully, making sure he doesn't touch her at all.
“I'll put the pillow between us.” Jisoo assures him as she sets the bolster down and moves a little to the edge of the bed, in her full conscious and respectful mode.
He chuckles at her action but doesn't say anything and lays on his left side, giving her his back. “I promise I won't cross the boundary, Jisoo. This is the least I can do for you.”
“I know you won't.” She knows because he already has a girl he loves and is a very loyal man so she has no worries at all. “So, goodnight.”
Shifting a bit, he peaks over his shoulder. “If you don't mind, can I ask you something?” He paves the way to have small conversations.
Exhausted and tired from shopping and acting, Jisoo wants to sleep but since he asked, she can't ignore it. “Go ahead.”
“Have you and Jungkook met before?”
She glances at him with a frown. “No, I don't.” It is not a lie, right? Moreover, there is no way she can tell him about the embarrassing incident.
“I see.” He isn't convinced by her obvious lie, not when he just witnessed the intimate scene of the two.
“By the way, he said he also lives here. Is it true?” She curiously asks, as it is a bit odd. Taehyung now faces her, surprising her greatly that she stares at him with eyes wide. “What's wrong?”
Sitting up, he looks at her in silence. She also sits up and it's getting quite awkward.
“Yes. He lives here. Because Grandma has never wanted him and me to be separated since we were kids. Although he has his own mansion and family.”
Jisoo can't tell what causes a frown on his face as she is just asking to be careful from now on and can act accordingly without making other mistakes. “So…do you think he suspected that we were acting?”
“Jungkook is a very immature person who likes to cause troubles and watch them play like a show. Even if he suspected us, no one would believe him.”
She narrows her eyes. “Why? Did he do something that made him unreliable?”
“No. It's just…” he doesn't know how to explain. “My father is the eldest born. While Jungkook’s mother is the second child. Since she’s a girl, our grandparents didn't trust her with our family's inheritance. So my father takes over both the legacy of business and estate. And as his only bloodline, I will continue the custom and become the next heir.”
“Which means…Jungkook doesn't get to experience as many privileges as you do?” She tries to follow his explanation attentively.
“Kinda like that.” He quickly adds when her face drops in befuddlement. “But we are fine on that term. You don't have to give so much thought to it.”
“You mean to tell me that he isn't interested in being an heir?”
“Correct. He always hates to take responsibility. You see how carefree he lives, totally different from us.”
“But…”
“If you want to ask something, just ask.” He assures her.
“Why did I feel like Uncle Jaehyun and your family don't get along well?”
“What makes you think like that?”
“It's just… I noticed the obvious tough atmosphere between your mother and him. I'm not prying into your family matters-”
“It's okay. Anyone with eyes can see it.” He laughs. “You aren't wrong. Mother never likes Uncle. She always thinks he's after our family's money and married Aunt Yoona for that reason only.”
“But isn't she also an outsider like him?” Jisoo realizes she has pressed the boundary and covers her mouth instantly. “I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to badmouth your mother-”
“Jisoo, I have known you since I dated Jennie. You're straight forward and don't hold back what you want to say. Stop acting like I'm going to jump on you for telling the truth.” His hand spontaneously reaches to her shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze before he removes it. “I know my mother more than anyone else. She's just being pessimistic. But I believe in my mother's instinct so I also stay on guard every time. Which is, of course, tiring to do every damn day.”
Although she is new to this family affairs, she feels an ounce of pity towards Jungkook and his father.
Whether they have bad intentions or not, they should not judge them negatively like that. Especially when they are already treating them no different from outsiders.
She realizes she is having sympathy towards Jeon Jungkook of all the people. Who insulted her and has been nothing but mean and rude to her since they met.
