"I don't know what you're so worried about." James said, after Logan had confided in him his feelings.
"I've never slept away from home before." Logan replied.
"Seriously? Never had a sleepover or anything?"
"No. I always wanted to when I was a kid, and I tried a load of times, but I always got too anxious and had to call my mom to pick me up." Logan explained.
"Dude. You're literally the only person I have ever met who hasn't had a sleepover. That's insane."
"Yeah, well we are in a psych ward."
"You know they get mad at you for calling it that."
"Huh?"
"They think it has 'negative connotations' - they make you say mental health support center, or something else dumb like that," James rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Look, I swear it's not that bad - obviously it's better when you aren't here - but you get used to it."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Go get your toothbrush." James said, wasting no time. He walked over to the door in one of the walls of their room, which Logan had discovered earlier in the day led to a bathroom. He did as instructed, and then followed James. He found him brushing his teeth already, leaning on the sink. He joined him.
"Did you just swallow that?" James said suddenly, as Logan finished up.
"What, the toothpaste? A little, it was an accident."
"Be careful, there's a bunch of calories in it." Logan frowned.
"I don't think there is."
"I wouldn't risk it." James shrugged, and walked back to the bedroom. Logan stared after him, the general idea of why James was in here dawning upon him. He decided not to ask questions, and did the same.
"Turn your back." James said as he returned, holding up pyjamas. Logan did, and changed into his own simultaneously. When he turned back around, James was already lying in bed.
"You're really slow."
"Thanks."
"Just observing. Go on, get in then." Logan slipped into his own bed.
"God, do they have to be so stiff?" He struggled to get into a comfortable position, and gave up after a few minutes. James nodded, yawning.
"So, now's the horrible part." Logan said.
"You mean sleeping?" James looked across.
"Yes."
"You'll be fine." James said, less reassuring, more of a statement.
"Maybe."
"Definitely. See you in the morning." James grinned and reached across to turn off the lamp.
"Wait!" Logan sat up slightly. James turned his head. "Can you leave it on?" He asked, embarrassed.
"Sure." James smiled.
"Thanks."
