3RD PERSON POV:

The large yet modern building of Shinobi High School stood basking in the sun as the school day went on. The usually vibrant and loud hallways were quieter than usual. The main reason was the noise being directed to the main hall. The door was slightly ajar as older years peeked in to see. All the first years had been gathered and sat in dozens and dozens of neatly organised rows. Most of the first years listened intently to the principal's speech, while some joked off or whispered to friends.

One first year sat bored, wishing this would be over. He had his feet crossed and his arms crossed as well. He didn't pay attention to anything his principal said as he found it all incredibly boring and hypocritical. However, he had nothing else to look at. On his left was nobody. Only a teacher leaned against the wall, who was more fixated on looking for disobedient students. On his right were the self-proclaimed "Class Couple" or one of them. They weren't doing much besides talking, but something he couldn't explain about it made him nauseous and solemn. He spent the next 20 minutes or so looking between his white sneakers and the metal roof above them, and eventually, the assembly was over.

The assembly led perfectly into lunchtime, which meant the boy could get a moment to himself. He replaced his previous books with books he needed for the next period and quickly headed outside before it got too crowded.

The place he'd been heading for was the mound of grass that stood at the back of the field. It had a good view of the massive field in front of it and the line of trees that trailed along the edge of the school. However, whenever he got out there, nearly the entire mound was filled with chatting teenagers eating their lunches. He didn't care about the crowd, as he only had 1 specific spot he sat on. However, when he looked to his spot, he saw a man with green hair in a rat tail sitting comfortably lying down in his spot while reading a manga.

He sighed a sigh of defeat, then walked the other way, and walked along the treeline for a little while until he reached a suitable place to sit. He found a small clearing of green grass within the trees and threw his bag down and lay on a log, and began eating.

A few minutes passed of silence while he ate. He was around halfway done his lunch when he heard twigs snapping just a few meters away from him. When he looked, a boy in his class came stumbling into the clearing and clearly hiding something behind his back.

"H- hey Ranmaru!! Jeez, you really made it hard to find you!" The boy spoke.

"Yeah, well, my usual spot on the mound got stolen.." Ranmaru replied bluntly. "Anyway, what did you need me for Jintarou..?"

"Oh yeah! Some 3rd year asked me to give you this!" Jintarou cheered. He pulled out a sealed brown envelope and placed it on my lap. "He apparently sat by your usual spot so he could give it to you when you arrived, but you never did, so he asked me to find you!!"

'Hm... so he was the one in my spot then. weird, I don't really recognise him... and it's a bit creepy to be in my spot wanting to give me this...' Ranmaru thought.

By the time he looked up, Jintarou, or 'Jin' to his friends, was already waving goodbye and re-entering the trees. Ranmaru sighed and ripped open the envelope. He pushed his fluffy white bangs out of his eyes and began to read it.

Ranmaru stared in surprise at the pamphlet. He wasn't expecting such a letter, especially if it was given personally to him.

He had only watched the 43rd to the 47th season of Danganronpa, and he didn't exactly find it fond. He liked the premise, but most of the time, they never chose good contestants. They do one every 8 months or so, and every time, he hears about it at least once.

Before he threw it away, though, he looked back and thought of it. He didn't have anything good in his life to say he "loved." His parents never stayed long enough at home, so he would surely be able to do this. He also wouldn't mind getting to know people like him. He could tell deep down most people on that were loners, whether it was acting or not.

"Hm...."

"How can I help you today, Ranmaru?" The office lady asked.

"I need to go home now. My mom rang me and said I have to go home now."

"Alright, sit over there, and I'll sign you out, then you can leave."

Ranmaru thanked her and sat in the row of seats meant to be for people who were leaving early. Nobody else sat there except one other boy. He was in his year, but they only had Science and French together. He was quiet, and, in honesty, Ranmaru thought of him as way too submissive and agreeable. He had indigo hair that reached his shoulders and was parted out of his face. He avoided eye contact with Ranmaru, but he didn't mind since he was still reading the pamphlet, but he felt the boys eyes on him now and then. Then, the door opened up.

"Kageyama, your Mom says you can leave." The office lady said. Ranmaru got up and fixed the bandages covering his wrists before leaving. On his way out, he heard the lady talking to the other boy, but Ranmaru still felt the boys eyes on him.

"Now... it says to be there for 6... and how will I get there?"
