My new roommates were so annoying. They hogged the bathroom, they talked too loudly and they had this annoying need to make sure I was up for breakfast. I wasn't a morning person, I never had been. If I had my way I'd sleep until 12 O'clock in the afternoon. The green and silver Slytherin uniform sat folded neatly at the end of my plush four-poster bed. The Slytherin dorm wasn't as horrible as I thought it'd be. Yes, it was very green but it wasn't the disgusting sick green I thought it'd be. It was dark kind of green like a forest. The stone floor was covered with a light grey shaggy rug, and the dark stone walls were decorated with intricately woven tapestries and beautiful paintings. The large hanging lanterns made the room feel a lot warmer considering the huge windows looking out into the school lake gave the room a greenish-grey tint. Each bed had a dark wooden wardrobe and a side table on each side.
"Bloody cat." I grumbled as Socrates crawled into the warm spot I'd left and curled up in the soft blankets. I shuffled to the bathroom rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"What happened to your hair?" Daphne Greengrass asked a stupid little smirk on her face.
"Are there owls living up there?" Pansy snickered.
I glanced in the mirror to see I looked insane. There was a line of dried drool on my cheek, my eyes were half-closed and my hair was wild and bushy.
I groaned. What the hell was I supposed to do with this? I thought. Aunt Petunia usually did my hair in platts (which I didn't know how to do).
"Hey Daphne, Bon Jovi called he wants his perm back." Celia called from the other room making the two other gasp.
"How dare you? I don't even know what a perm is?"
"Yeah, this is her natural hair."
Celia snorted. "Yeah, right."
Pansy and Daphne stormed into the main room to argue with Celia completely forgetting about me.
"Ignore them. they've always been judgmental cows, it's not just you." Ayesha said from where she'd been brushing her teeth at the far sink. "Here. It works wonders trust me."
She passed me a giant bottle that looked a lot like shampoo only bigger and uglier. The purple, green and orange label said Sleekeazy's Hair Potion and Scalp Treatment, Two drops tames even the most bothersome barnet.
I followed the instructions and squeezed two liberal dollops into my palm. It worked quickly smoothing down my dark brown curls until they were completely straight. It was amazing. I needed to remember to get some of my own.
15 minutes later I was finally ready. I found Ayesha and Celia were sat waiting for me when I left the bathroom.
"About time. Come on, they're going to run out of bacon." Celia said shoving my book bag into my arms.
