I managed to make it all the way to the Christmas holidays without getting in trouble. Shocking, I know.I couldn't wait for Christmas to start. It was my favourite holiday even though it meant I had to spend two weeks with Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, I liked all the fun songs, the big tin of biscuits, hot chocolates and the big jumpers. At my old school, I used to get loads of Christmas cards (I used to be so popular). Harry and I never got any good presents but I didn't really mind.
"I'm sure my parents wouldn't you coming to ours for the break. You can bring Harry too." Ayesha said as she tried to shove her clothes into her trunk.
"No thanks. Harry really wants to stay here." I smiled, a few months ago my old friends wouldn't even tell people they knew me and now I was being invited to stay with them for Christmas (well I don't think Ayesha's family celebrated Christmas but you know what I mean).
Harry and I had decided to spend the holidays at school instead of going back home (mainly because Harry didn't want to). Ron and his brothers were staying, too, because Mr and Mrs Weasley were going to Romania to visit Charlie, the Dragon brother. It was slightly annoying that I had to spend my favourite day with the stupid twins, the neeky prefect and Ron but I wouldn't let it ruin Christmas.
"I don't know why you always do what Harry wants. I don't think I'd let any of my brothers tell me what to do." Celia called from the bathroom.
I frowned. I didn't always do what Harry wanted. We just had to stay together a lot, we're all each other have.
"Erm... so, what are you going to do here all alone for two weeks?" Ayesha asked awkwardly.
"Oh, umm, don't know. Eat a load of chocolate and explode." I shrugged flopping back onto my bed.
"You could get ahead on the homework." Celia said jumping on my bed next to me.
"Ew, no."
"Maybe you could try quidditch." Ayesha sat on my other side holding Socrates.
"In the sky? Are you insane?" I asked seriously. She had to be joking. Me fly. Me. Pippa Rosemary Potter.
"You said you liked quidditch."
"Yeah, watching it." I said my voice slightly higher than usual.
"Just give it a try, it's fun." Celia added.
"Oh sure, flying about on a broomstick is gonna be bloody delightful. Bet I'll be fun when I fall off and break my neck too." I hated heights. I probably hated heights more than I hated Uncle Vernon. I didn't like water either but that was probably because I didn't know how to swim.
Once the holidays had officially started, I spent most of my time with Ron and Harry. We sat by the fire in the Gryffindor common room for hours eating anything we could spear on a toasting fork -- bread, English muffins, marshmallows -- and plotting ways of getting Malfoy expelled.
