TWO WEEKS AFTER "ULTIMATUM"

The ceremony was massive.

The streets of the Capital City were filled from block to block with civilians, all of whom had gathered to pay their respects to those who had fallen in the great battle with Fisi and Eve. Even members of the militaries that had fought alongside them were present, as their comrades were being honoured in the service as well.

Zechariah delivered the opening remarks, barely making it through them as sorrow choked his words. Calvin Wade concluded by leading those gathered in a prayer before giving the stage to the first group of relatives who would be speaking on behalf of their deceased loved one.

"Let it be known, first and foremost, that my brother was a lover, not a fighter," said Fantasia, the Head of the E! District, her voice emanating through the City District. "Yet when duty called, he didn't hesitate to join the fight for our freedom. Though he was against the draft, he still went to battle willingly, for it was from his love for all of us that his drive to fight for us was born.

"Fabian valiantly sacrificed himself in the first attempt to destroy Fisi's siphon," Fantasia went on, lowering her head as her voice broke slightly. "His death was not a failure, but a sign that the bravery to stand tall in the face of our greatest enemy could be found in anyone." She smiled a little and chuckled, adding, "Even a flamboyant little show-off like him.

"Now he rests with his wife and son, leaving behind a legacy that we shall carry on," Fantasia concluded, gesturing to Clarissa and her children, who stood next to her. "As the 'Alejandro Act' was enacted following the tragedy at Rest for the Weary, to raise awareness for the homeless, so the 'Fabian Foundation' shall be established to begin a legacy of peace among the youth of this great city." The District Head swept her gaze over the crowd. "Fabian may be gone, but his impact will forever remain... and his memory shall never be forgotten."

Zill fiddled with the microphone for about twenty seconds straight, leaving the crowd to stand and watch in somber, somewhat ominous silence.
