Beau's POV

Thursday afternoon rolled around, and after a tough basketball practice, I made my way to the locker room to change. The familiar sounds of chatter and laughter echoed off the walls as my teammates and I prepared to head home for the day.

As I slipped out of my basketball jersey and into just my sports bra, I heard the door to the locker room swing open. My heart skipped a beat as I turned to see Adeline standing in the doorway, her soccer gear slung over her shoulder.

"Hey, Beau," she greeted me with a grin, her eyes lingering on me for a moment longer than usual. "Didn't expect to see you here."

"Hey, Adeline," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady despite the sudden rush of nerves. "Just finishing up practice. What about you?"

"Just got done with my practice," she said, stepping further into the locker room. "Figured I'd swing by and grab my stuff before heading home."

I nodded, trying to focus on anything other than the fact that I was practically half-naked in front of Adeline. "Cool, cool. How was practice?"

Adeline smiled, her gaze trailing over me in a way that made my heart race. "It was good. We're getting ready for our game tomorrow, so Coach had us working extra hard."

"Nice," I said, mentally berating myself for my lack of confidence. "You guys are gonna kill it."

Adeline took a step closer, her eyes locking with mine. "Thanks, Beau. I appreciate the vote of confidence."

There was a charged energy in the air, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of nervous excitement. Adeline seemed to feel it too, judging by the way her cheeks flushed and her fingers toyed with the strap of her bag.

"Um, hey, Adeline," I said, my voice coming out a little shaky. "Do you, uh, wanna grab a bite or something after your game tomorrow, my treat? "

Adeline's smile widened, and my heart soared at the sight of it. "I'd love to, Beau. That sounds perfect."

I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. Maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something special between us.

"Oh, and Beau," Adeline said, reaching into her bag and pulling out a soccer jersey. "I wanted to give you this."

My eyes widened in surprise as Adeline handed me her away jersey, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "To show your support tomorrow."

I took the jersey, feeling a rush of warmth spread through me at the thought of wearing something that belonged to Adeline. "I'll wear it with pride," I said, my voice tinged with excitement.

As Adeline left the locker room, a smile tugging at her lips, I couldn't wait to see where this new chapter would take us. And as I held her jersey in my hands, I knew that no matter what the future held, I would always be there to support her, every step of the way.
