Adeline's pov

The following day dawned with a sense of lingering warmth from the night before. Thoughts of Beau filled my mind as I went about my morning routine, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

I couldn't shake the memory of our date, the way Beau had looked at me with such tenderness, the feel of her basketball hoodie wrapped snugly around me, the sound of her voice as she sang along to the music. It was a night I would never forget, and it left me yearning for more.

As I made my way to school, my heart raced with anticipation. I couldn't wait to see Beau again, to bask in the glow of her presence and relive the magic of our date. But as I turned the corner to her locker, my excitement gave way to a pang of disappointment.

Beau was surrounded by her friends, laughing and chatting animatedly as they exchanged stories from the weekend. I watched from afar, a sense of longing washing over me as I yearned to be by her side once again.

With a heavy sigh, I turned and made my way to my own locker, trying to push aside the feelings of jealousy and insecurity that threatened to consume me. I knew Beau had her own life outside of our new relationship, but a part of me couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy at the thought of her spending time with others.

Lost in my thoughts, I barely noticed when Hadley approached, a concerned expression on her face. "Adeline, are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine concern.

I forced a smile, trying to shake off my inner turmoil. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just lost in thought, I guess."

But Hadley wasn't convinced, her eyes searching mine for any sign of the truth. "Adeline, I know something's bothering you. You can talk to me, you know."

With a sigh, I relented, knowing that I couldn't keep my feelings bottled up any longer. "It's Beau," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "I saw her with her friends, and... I don't know, I guess I just felt left out."

Hadley nodded in understanding, her expression sympathetic. "I get it, Adeline. But you have to remember that Beau cares about you. She wouldn't have asked you out if she didn't."

I knew Hadley was right, but it was hard to shake the feeling of insecurity that gnawed at me. Still, I knew I couldn't let my fears dictate my actions. If I wanted to make things work with Beau, I had to trust in our connection and believe that our bond was strong enough to withstand any obstacles that came our way.

With a renewed sense of determination, I squared my shoulders and made my way to Beau's locker, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. As I approached Beau's locker, my heart raced with a mix of nerves and excitement. She looked up as I approached, her smile lighting up her face in a way that made my heart skip a beat.

"Hey, Adeline," she greeted me warmly, her eyes sparkling with genuine affection.

"Hey, Beau," I replied, returning her smile with one of my own. "Can we talk for a minute?"

Beau's brow furrowed slightly in concern, but she nodded, gesturing for me to follow her to a quieter corner of the hallway.

"What's on your mind?" she asked, her voice soft with concern.

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts before speaking. "I saw you with your friends earlier, and... I don't know, I guess I just felt a little left out."

Beau's expression softened, and she reached out to gently cup my cheek, her touch sending shivers down my spine. "I'm sorry, Adeline. I didn't mean to make you feel that way. You mean the world to me, and I want you to know that."

Her words were like a balm to my soul, soothing the ache of insecurity that had been gnawing at me. "I know, Beau. It's just... hard sometimes, you know? Seeing you with other people."

Beau nodded in understanding, her gaze never wavering from mine. "I get it, Adeline. But you have to trust me when I say that you're the only one I want to be with. You're special to me in a way that no one else is."

Her words washed over me like a wave, filling me with a sense of warmth and belonging that I had never known before. "Thank you, Beau," I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper.

Without another word, Beau pulled me into her arms, holding me close as if she never wanted to let me go.
