Adeline's Pov

I stepped through the front door of my house, the warmth of the interior enveloping me in a familiar embrace. The events of the evening swirled around in my mind, a flurry of emotions tugging at my heart.

Without hesitation, I made my way to my room, the silence of the house echoing around me. Sitting down on my bed, I reached for my phone, my fingers trembling slightly as I dialed Hadley's number.

The phone rang once, twice, before she finally picked up. "Adeline? Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. "Hadley, I need to talk to you about something. Can you come over?"

There was a pause on the other end of the line, followed by a soft sigh. "Of course, Adeline. I'll be there in ten minutes."

As I hung up the phone, a sense of relief washed over me. With Hadley by my side, I knew that I could confide in her, share my deepest fears and insecurities without judgment.

True to her word, Hadley arrived a few minutes later, a concerned expression on her face as she stepped into my room. "What's going on, Adeline? You sounded really upset on the phone."

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts before speaking. "Hadley, something happened today. Something... unexpected."

Hadley sat down beside me, her eyes filled with concern. "What happened, Adeline? You can tell me."

I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to put my feelings into words. But as I glanced at Hadley, her unwavering support giving me strength, I knew that I had to be honest with her.

"I... I think I might have feelings for Beau," I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. "I know it sounds crazy, but... she's been on my mind non-stop lately, and today, when we were at her house, I just... I felt something, Hadley. Something I've never felt before."

Hadley's eyes widened in surprise, but she reached out and took my hand in hers, offering me a reassuring smile. "Adeline, that's... that's amazing. I mean, I know things have been complicated between you two, but... if you really feel this way about Beau, then maybe it's worth exploring."

I nodded, a sense of relief flooding through me at her words. "Yeah, maybe you're right. But... there's more, Hadley. Something happened at Beau's house tonight, and I don't know how to process it."

Hadley listened intently as I recounted the events of the evening, from watching the movie together to Adeline accidentally falling asleep on Beau's shoulder. With each word, the weight of my confession lifted from my shoulders, leaving behind a sense of clarity and understanding.

As I finished speaking, Hadley squeezed my hand gently, a smile playing on her lips. "Adeline, it sounds like you and Beau have something really special. And if tonight was any indication, maybe there's more to your relationship than just friendship."

I nodded, a sense of hope stirring within me. "Yeah, maybe there is. But... what do I do now, Hadley? How do I navigate these feelings without risking our friendship?"

Hadley's smile softened, her eyes filled with warmth and understanding. "You take it one step at a time, Adeline. Talk to Beau, tell her how you feel. And remember, no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you."

As I looked into Hadley's eyes, her unwavering support giving me strength, I knew that no matter what the future held, as long as I had my best friend everything would be okay.
