Listed bricks stack around my eyes
Whenever I see your face
Ropes of cement intertwined
Wrapped around my veins
White walls behind your portrait
They will never fall
Listed in my memories
Listed in the wall
I see you in the concrete
Running in the rain
Your reflection in the mirror
Silhouette engrained
Your face is in the mortar
Your breath is in the wind
Enshrined upon the mantlepiece
Layers of varnish thinned
When these strong bricks corrode
I will stay here till they fall
I will keep you in my listed building
Listed in my walls
