The Gate

"Eleven." Mike says quietly. "Mike." Eleven gasps out, the two of them hug. "Is that..." Max asks and Logan nods his head once. "I never gave up on you. I called you every night. Every night for..." Mike said but Eleven interrupted him. "353 days. I heard." Eleven said. "Why didn't you tell me you were there? That you were okay?" Mike asked. "Because I wouldn't let her." Hopper answered Mike. "The hell is this? Where you been?" Hopper turned his attention to Eleven. "Where have you been?" Eleven asked him. "You've been hiding her. You've been hiding her this whole time!" Mike yelled at Hopper. "Hey! Let's talk. Alone." Hopper stopped Mike. Hopper leads Mike into another room.

"Eleven!" Logan hurries over to Eleven with Dustin and Lucas. The four of them hugged. "We missed you." Lucas said. "I missed you, too." Eleven said back with a  smile. "We talked about
you pretty much every day." Dustin told the girl. Eleven looked at Dustin weirdly. She pushed her thumb against his teeth and he pushed his head back. "Teeth. You have teeth." Eleven said. "Oh. You like these pearls?" Dustin purred. "Eleven? Hey. Um, I'm Max. I've heard a lot about you." Max walked forward and stuck her hand out but Eleven just brushed her off and walked forward to Stephanie who hugged her. "She doesn't get along with most people." Logan told Max.

Now everyone is around the table. Hopper sighs. "It's not like it was before. It's grown. A lot. And, I mean, that's considering we can get in there. The place is crawling with those dogs." Hopper said to the group. "Demo-dogs." Dustin corrected him. "I'm sorry, what?" Hopper sighed. "I said, uh, Demo-dogs. Like Demogorgon and dogs. You put them together, it sounds pretty badass..." Dustin continued. "How is this important right now?" Hopper asked in irritation. "It's not. I'm sorry." Dustin apologizes. "I can do it." Eleven told Hopper. "You're not hearing me." Hopper told Eleven. "I'm hearing you. I can do it." Eleven reassured Hopper. "Even if El can, there's still another problem. If the brain dies, the body dies." Mike said and Logan nodded. "I thought that was the whole point." Max asked. "It is, but if we're really right about this...I mean, if El closes the gate and kills the Mind Flayer's army...Will's a part of that army. Closing the gate will kill him." Logan said. 

Joyce led everyone in Wills bedroom that was cold, Will was laying on the bed passed out. "He likes it cold." Joyce said. "What?" Hopper asked. Joyce walked over to the Window and closed it. "It's what Will kept saying to me. He likes it cold. We keep giving it what it wants." Joyce said, looking at Hopper. "If this is a virus, and Will's the host, then..." Nancy trailed off. "Then we need to make the host uninhabitable." Jonathan added, looking at Will. "So if he likes it cold..." Stephanie trails off as well. "We need to burn it out of him." Joyce added. "We have to do it somewhere he doesn't know this time." Mike stated. "Yeah, somewhere far away." Dustin said. Joyce, Jonathan, Nancy and Stephanie would all go to Hoppers cabin in the woods to burn the thing out of Will. While Hopper and Eleven go to Hawkins Lab to close the gate while everyone else stays in Joyce's house and waits. They all leave.

Dustin is making Steve preserve the body of one of the Demo-dogs in Joyce's fridge. Logan watches from the couch. "All right. It should fit now." Dustin said opening the fridge door. "Is this really necessary?" Steve asked holding the body of the monster. "Yes, it is, okay? This is a ground-breaking scientific discovery. We can't just bury it like some common mammal, okay? It's not a dog." Dustin told Steve. "All right, all right, all right. But you're explaining this to Mrs. Byers, all right? Christ. Help me out." Steve said stuffing the Monster into the fridge. "What am I supposed to do?" Dustin asks as Steve struggled. "Get the door, man." Steve tells him. "All right, I got the door." Dustin said closing the fridge.

Logan turned to look at Mike, who was pacing. "Mike, would you just stop already?" Lucas asked getting annoyed at Mikes pacing."You weren't in there, okay, Lucas? That lab is swarming with hundreds of those dogs." Mike said. "Demo-dogs!" Dustin corrects from the kitchen. "Shut up with that." Logan called out to Dustin from the living room. "The chief will take care of her." Lucas reminds Mike. "Like she needs protection." Max says sitting next to Logan. "Listen, dude, a coach calls a play in a game, bottom line, you execute it. All right?" Steve says walking into the living room. "Okay, first of all, this isn't some stupid sports game. And second, we're not even in the game. We're on the bench." Mike told Steve. "So my point is...Right, yeah, we're on the bench, so, uh, there's nothing we can do." Steve stammers. "That's not entirely true. I mean, these Demo-dogs, they have a hive mind. When they ran away from the bus, they were called away." Dustin corrects. Logan perks up. "If we get their attention..." Lucas trails off. "Maybe we can draw them from the lab." Max said. "Clear a path to the gate." Mike said. "Yeah, and then we all die." Steve added in a voice of determination. "That's one point of view." Logan said. "No, that's not a point of view, man. That's a fact." Steve looks at Logan. "I got it!" Mike walked over to a wall that had drawings attached that were also all very the house.  "This is where the chief dug his hole. This is our way into the tunnel. So...Here, right here. This is like a hub." Mike said walking to another wall. "So you got all the tunnels feeding in here. Maybe if we set this on fire..." Mike continued. "Oh, yeah? That's a no." Steve says but is interrupted. "The Mind Flayer would call away his army." Dustin added onto Mike's thought. "They'd all come to stop us." Lucas said. "We circle back to the exit." Mike continued. "Guys." Steve tries to get their attention again. "By the time they realize we're gone..." Logan trailed off. "El would be at the gate." Max said. "Hey. Hey! Hey! This is not happening." Steve said finally getting their attention. "But..." Mike goes to argue. "No, no, no, no, no. No buts. I promised I'd keep you shitheads safe, and that's exactly what I plan on. We're staying here. On the bench. And we're waiting for the starting team to do their job. Does everybody understand?" Steve says like a mother. "This isn't a stupid sports game." Mike said to Steve. "I said does everybody understand that? I need a yes." Steve ignores Mike. Then everyone turns their attention to the Window as they hear a car engine rev and rock music playing. Max walks over to the window and sees Billy's car. "It's my brother. He can't know I'm here. He'll kill me. He'll kill us." Max tells Logan. Logan looks at Steve.
