Alastors pov
"That was so much fun" Charlie skipped happily into the hallway.
"And it's going to be even more fun when your friend gets here" Lucifer said in a singsong voice.
"The what now?" Before my question could be answered the doorbell rang.
"Oh that's them" Lucifer said cheerfully as he answered the door. Standing there was none other than Adam with his daughter vaggie and a pretty blonde hair girl.
"Lucifer long time no see bud" he pulled him into a headlock "imagine my surprise when I heard my little girl made friends with your kid!"
"Hope that's not awkward" he chuckled nervously.
"Fuck no! You stealing my wife was the best thing that ever happened to me" he insisted "After all now I have lute and she's just fucking gets me in a way Lilith never did!"
"Language Adam, we have children here" lute gently reminded him.
"Crap" he scratched his head awkwardly before turning to his daughter "go on vaggie say hi" he pushed her forward.
"My name's vaggie" she played with her hands nervously "my mommy and daddy are police officers"
"Great I'm stuck in a house with two police officers!" I thought to myself.
"Wow you must be so proud of them" Lucifer bent down to her level.
"Ahuh I wanna be a police officer when I grow up so I can help people" she said firmly.
"You hear that! Ain't she the cutest girl in the world" adam rubbed his cheek against vaggies.
"Almost. My little girl's still cuter" Lucifer said proudly.
"Oh fuck off, there's no way your kid can beat my kid!"
"You wanna put money on that bitch"
"Boys enough fighting" lute stood in-between them.
"But he started it!" The two whined.
"I'm surrounded by children" lute pinched the bridge of her nose before turning to me "hey do you mind taking the girls somewhere to play?"
"Certainly my dear" I nodded "come along girls, I'll bring us some snacks"
"Ok come on vaggie, I want to show you my bedroom" she took the girls hand and led her upstairs. I chopped some apples, bananas and strawberries and brought them upstairs.
"Thank you Mr alastor" the girls chirped as I placed the tray down on her plastic table.
"You're very welcome. Enjoy your playdate girls" I bowed deeply before leaving. I wandered into the kitchen to find Lucifer sitting with Adam and lute.
"Your vaggies a real sweetheart but I am curious Adam, since when did you have a daughter?" Lucifer inquired.
"Since a year ago. We adopted her after a particularly fucked up case" the sheriff looked away.
Lute took her lovers hand "it all happened one night. We were called in to investigate screams coming from a old house in the woods"
Lute's pov
We arrived at the house in question. It could all just be a prank but if it's legit this could get messy.
Adam waltz in without a care. I jogged to keep pace with him.
"I've got your back sir" I said firmly.
"Do you have to call me sir? We are married and on banging terms" he smirked.
"Just trying to stay professional" I smiled bashfully. This guy!
We stepped inside gun in hand and the sight we saw was gruesome to say the least. The bodies of a man, women and child lay there mangled and bloody. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a man make a run for it. Adam pulled out his pistol and shot the bastard.
"How you like that you tiny dick bitch" he spat.
I bent down to the little girl with tears in my eyes. This is too cruel. To my shock I saw her chest moving "Adam she's alive!"
"Oh fuck!" He jumped "wrap her wounds lute I'll call an ambulance"
*Time skip*
We sat at the hospital hallway. Adam paced back and forth anxiously while I placed my hands together in prayer. Please god let that little girl be ok.
Suddenly a doctor came in "she's stable and conscious. Would you like to see her"
"Yeah we would" we shoved the doctor aside and headed inside. Sitting there was the little girl covered in bandages including around her right eye. She's probably lose the use of that eye.
"Hey kiddo" Adam spoke in a soft tone he normally never uses "I bought you a teddy"
"Thank you" she hugged the teddy with sad eyes "where's my parents?"
We eyed each other nervously "I'm afraid they're not here anymore"
She teared up "I'm all alone"
"You're not alone honey. We're going to visit you everyday" I said reassuringly.
"But what about when I get out of hospital?" She asked "I don't have anyone to live with"
"You can live with us" adam said quickly "that's ok isn't it?" he eyed me nervously.
"Of course it's alright" I squeezed his hand reassuringly "would you like that honey?"
"Yeah I'd like that a lot" she hugged the teddy with a small smile.
Alastors pov
"And just like that I became a mom" lute finished her story "not that I'm complaining, she's a great kid"
"She's struggled to make friends since the incident. We gotta thank your little girl for bringing her out of her shell" Adam nodded.
"What can I say. My daughter's pretty amazing" Lucifer grinned.
The three of them laughed and shared drinks like old friends. I sighed internally. They're going to be sticking around aren't they?
