-Mattheo-
I stared at the dancing bodies, unmoving. Unfeeling. Another party was thrown, and Draco had insisted I attend. A glass of whiskey was resting in my hand, my fingers wrapped loosely around it. Flashing lights covered the crowd, with the smell of alcohol weaving through the air, accompanied by music thrumming in my ears.
"Hey there, hottie," a voice murmured near my ear. I turned my head absentmindedly, glancing at the girl leaning over me. "I would love to have a dance with you." Her voice became husky. "And maybe a dance in my bed as well."
I looked her up at down, noticing the subtle bite of her lip. She was nervous. The girl was pretty, black hair sitting on her shoulders, while a tight black dress clung to her frame. I gave her a lazy grin, watching hope fill her eyes. My chin dipped in a slow nod, and I rose, gulping down the rest of the whiskey. The girl led me away from the couches, and promptly began grinding on me, her movements matching the beat of the song. After a few moments, she rose onto her tip-toes to kiss me. I kissed back.

I groaned, blinking to let my eyes adjust to the bright lights. A body was lying next to me, her naked chest was pressed against the bed, a blanket drawn up to her back. My shirt was still on, and boxers were hanging loosely on my hips. I stepped out of bed, pulling on a pair of pants and sat at my desk, waiting for the girl to wake up so I could send her away.
Motion on my bed caught my eye, and I turned to see her sit up and look around the room. Our eyes locked, and she blushed awkwardly, before picking up her clothes and putting them on.
"You should go." I said calmly, gesturing to the door. She nodded again, putting on her dress from last night and hurrying out of my dorm. Sighing, I locked my door and sat on my chair, my elbows on the desk while my head rested in my hands.
I had been hooking up with girls almost every night for the past week. If I wasn't spending my evenings fucking some chick, I was off doing a mission for my father. Draco kept telling me how unhealthy it was, to not have any friends except for him, but I didn't care.
"I know that you're having a mental breakdown, but I have some stuff to talk to you about, and I would prefer if you weren't a crying mess." A voice drawled into my ear.
"Shut up, Draco." I snapped, pulling myself together and turning to stare at him.
"Anyway, my dad sent an owl to me about a mission for you. I don't get to know about it, so here you go." The blond boy handed an envelope to me. It had a large, unmarked piece of black wax stuck to the front, sealing it. I narrowed my eyes. My father never sent any information without a marked seal, whether it was a Malfoy stamp or a simple dark mark.
"And this is from my father?" I asked, looking up at Draco.
"No. My father. He was worried about something and didn't have much time to write it." He explained.
I nodded, and he walked out of my dorm. I slowly opened the letter with my dagger, and read the contents.
Dear Mattheo Riddle,
My apologies for the messy handwriting in this letter. I have some events to attend, and the Dark Lord tasked me with sending you an update of our status. If this is unsealed at the time you have this, I would suggest being cautious.
The Dark Lord wants you to have a plan for the murder of the boy. Three more people are allowed to assist. Not the Black girl. She might tell her father about these plans, and that would be a very problematic situation. A meeting will be held tonight, same time, same place. The rest of the children will not be attending. None of them.
Regards,
Lucius Malfoy

I reread the letter a few times, scanning the paper for any hints of a code. The last few words had been written with enough force to rip the paper, and the ink was smeared, as if Malfoy had not waited for the ink to dry before sending it out.
After a few moments, I turned towards my desk, looking at the large stack of letters that I was to respond to. My father did not trust any of his Death Eaters to look through his personal papers, so he had delegated the task to me. Like most tasks.
I lifted an envelope, tearing it open and beginning to read the request. As always, they started with the grovelling, the congratulations, the compliments.
To the Dark Lord,
You are an extremely powerful wizard. I am sure that you will succeed in your mission to take over the world, if there was any doubt.
Now, you have told me that someone from my household must become a Death Eater, to pay for my father's attempts to overrule you. I am asking if you would prefer to have my House Elf, who is quite powerful for his kind, but nothing compared to you. I hope you can take this into consideration, but you are free to take any member of my family, including me.
My warmest regards,
Jacoby Grey
I dipped a quill in ink, and began to write a short reply. All letters were the same. People were always asking for things, if they weren't grovelling to my father. All I had to do was threaten them and say that the Dark Lord had no interest in the simple desires of a wizard.

-Lilith-
"Hey Lilith?" Cedric stopped, towering over me. I looked up at him, wondering why he was stopping me in the middle of the hallway. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to the Yule Ball with me?" Hope filled his eyes as he smiled down at me. "We can go as friends, if you want. But I need to have a date for the ball and-"
"Yes!" I blurted out, grinning back at him. We didn't need to go as a couple. We would just be two friends hanging out, and dancing together.
"Thanks! I really appreciate it, Lilith. I know that we haven't had the best relationship, but Mcgonagal really wants all of the contestants to have a date." Cedric explained. "But now I have to go, so bye!" He dashed off, practically skipping down the hall.
