A bookstore in Seoul with the faint smell of thousands of books.

I am now here to buy a book on how to write lyrics.

Things about music, like vocals, composition, and performance, can be learned at an academy.

Unfortunately, M Applied Music Academy does not have a professional teacher who teaches lyric writing.

Of course, although I am not a professional lyricist, there are teachers who are former composers who give me feedback on my lyric writing.

However, he said that this was only feedback from the composer's perspective, and that he could not give professional advice on lyric creation.

Until then, whenever I came to the bookstore, I only stayed in the literature section.

For example, a corner with poetry and essays, or a corner with books such as modern novels or classic novels.

However, lyric writing is a little different from that kind of literature.

Poetry can be said to be a genre that is on a similar track to lyrics. Unlike poetry, which creates images through sentences and words, song lyrics must be able to convey 'words.'

It can be said to be a genre of ‘statement’ and ‘statement’.

From a corner of the bookstore, I take out author Shin In-ah’s ‘How to Write Lyrics for Modern Songs’.

Shin In-ah is a writer and lyricist. She said that a writer is someone who publishes books, but a lyricist is someone who writes song lyrics. She is a rookie, and she is a rare lyricist who can do both at the same time.

He published a book in which he compiled in his own way the theories on lyric writing he had learned while working as a lyricist for many years.

As proof of his brilliant lyric writing career, this writing method book was treated like a 'bible' for those who dream of becoming a lyricist or singer-songwriter.

I opened the book and saw the greeting on the front page.

“I hope this book becomes the mouth and tongue for all singers. Some people will write to sing the lyrics they wrote themselves, while others will write in the hope that someone will sing the lyrics they wrote for them. We write for people who sing. “Whether it is you or someone else, I hope you can share the special experience of turning letters into sounds.”

“Letters become sounds...”

That is correct.

I have been a person who has not been able to make letters into sounds.

So, even at the moment when a poem I wrote was selected as the winner of the 100-Il Contest and I had to read the poem aloud at the award ceremony.

I had to entrust the reading of my poetry to an agent.

“Why doesn’t that person read?”

“Because I can’t speak, someone else reads it to me.”

But I hated having my writing spoken by others.

I always put my heart and voice into my writing.

I never once thought that it was someone else's responsibility.

That's why hearing my words in someone else's voice was terrible. I felt like my child was stolen from me by someone.

So, author Shin In-ah’s greeting gave me some motivation and motivation.

“A special experience where letters become sounds.”

This experience would be more special to me than to anyone else.
