6. Interrogate

A girl's voice comes from Priyanshi's side, "aap uth gai" (Have you got up?)

She turned her head and her gaze fell upon a young 17 year old girl walking shyly toward her.

The girl was dressed in a simple yet elegant lehenga, her features delicate and her eyes wide with a mixture of awe and trepidation.

Her presence seemed to fill the room with a sense of peace and wonder.

"Tum koun ho ?" (Who are you?) priyanshi asked, her voice as sweet as the chirping of birds.

"Mera naam madhusmita hai" (My name is madhusmita) the girl replied, her voice soft as a gentle breeze "I am your new maid"

Priyanshi smiles innocently and says "But why do I need a maid?" In reply Madhusmita says "Maharaj has said that till you get well, you will stay here and till then I will take care of you."

Am I going to stay here, in this palace of that mad king, not with him, never... but I still don't know anything about this time, nor about this place, nor about this country,.. for now I will stay safe in this palace only

"Maharaja is arriving" comes announcement from outside.

Priyanshi and Madhusmita both turn their heads and look towards the door, just then the king enters the room.

As soon as he enters, Madhusmita greets the king briefly but Priyanshi just keeps staring at him.

Seeing her, the king smirk and then goes near her bed and sits on a side chair

"Aap ka naam ?"(What is your name?) the king asked. "Priyanshi" Priyanshi reluctantly gives an answer, the king asks again, "What is your full name?" "I don't know"

Hearing her words, the king and Madhusmita both start staring at Priyanshi in surprise. Seeing there expression, Priyanshi could understand what both of them were thinking.

Then she says lowering her eyes "I am an orphan. I was very young when my mother and father passed away. That is why I don't know my full name."

Hearing her words, Madhusmita becomes very emotional and the king too keeps looking at her without saying anything as if he can understand her pain very well.

After remaining silent for some time, the king tries to say something, "So you_" "Don't you have some manners ?" Priyanshi interrupts the king, but the king gets angry on hearing this.

He was showing pity towards Priyanshi and now Priyanshi is insulting him.

The King's face was turning red with anger, yet he calmed himself down and said, "What do you mean?"

"When I told you my name, shouldn't you tell me your name too?" Priyanshi said laughing, raising one of her eyebrows.

Hearing this, the king also raises one of his eyebrows while hiding his anger and says through gritted teeth, "Shaurya, my name is Shaurya Raj Raghuvanshi"

Suddenly a sane plan came to Priyanshi's mind and she decided to tease him a little, what? it's not that he will kill me for this "hmm, okay, it's nice to meet you... no, actually it's didn't nice to meet Shaurya"

From behind, Madhusmita stops Priyanshi and says, "aap maharaj ko aise hi unke naam se nahi bula sakti" (You cannot call Maharaj by this name)

but Priyanshi replies teasing him more of course it's all was a harmless joke, "Why not, i don't have any problem if your Maharaj calls me by name, and I think he too should not have any problem too by me calling him by his name", Priyanshi says jokingly.

Shaurya first gets angry at Priyanshi but then he looks into her eyes and smiles as if he has some plan going on in his mind and then says, "No, i don't have any problem, if my guest wants this then fine."

Hearing this, Priyanshi feels strange her plan back fire her herself "no it's ok i will address your king by your highness too" she said avoiding eye contact

While Shaurya further says, "By the way, i want to ask you some questions." Priyanshi looks into his eyes and says, "Do you want to interrogate me?"

"You should assume that as is" Shaurya asks seriously, "i want to know what you were doing in that river?"

"I was playing help me help me... I fell down of course " Priyanshi said, "So you fell down" "I fell down"

"But how did you fall?" asks Shaurya, in response to this Priyanshi says "yaad nahi" (I don't remember) "So where is your house" "Ah... that... I... don't know" "You don't remember your own house"

Priyanshi quickly makes an excuse and says "I fell in the river...looks like my head got affected to that hahaha"

I can't go from here right now. I have to stay here, no matter what I have to do for this or how many times I have to say lie for it...

Seeing Priyanshi's expression, Shaurya asks her "aap mazak kar rahi hai hamare sath?" (Are you joking with me?) Priyanshi quickly replies "No, absolutely not" "So all this is true" "You are very special to me, why would I lie to you"

Your are my key to stay here, i have to say all lie to you of course king shaurya, I'm sorry but i can't help it

Shaurya finds Priyanshi's words a little strange. "I am... special to you?" Now Priyanshi realise what just she said but now unable to understand what should she say next.

To resolve the matter, Priyanshi says whatever comes to her mind. "Yes, you are special because you are like my friend." "When did i become your friends?" "Right now!"

"So, do you want me to be your friend?" "Yes, you are my friend, right?" "Of course, if that is what you want," says Shaurya laughing at Priyanshi's word

Shaurya knows very well that Priyanshi is lying to him, yet he was knowingly participating in Priyanshi's lies, he just want to see what else Priyanshi would say it's like a good game to him

So let's see what you can do, I don't know why but you slowly being so precious to me now, then let's see what happens next in this game
