The walls slid open, revealing a crowd of people gathered at the doors of the maze.
"LOOK!" I saw Chuck yell, pointing at me and Minho as we came around the corner, carrying Albys body.
The crowd of people being shouting and waving at us, shocked we were still alive.

"What happened out there?" Someone asked.

"Did you see a Griever?" Said another.

Minho said, "She didn't just see it. She killed it."

The crowd gasped and murmurs flooded the air. Everyone looked at me, eyes wide.

-

"Things are changing. There's no denying that." Gally said.
We were all gathered in a large, wide building, and they were all taking about me.
"First Ben gets stung in the day, now Alby." Gally continued. "And now our Greenie here has takin it upon herself to go into the maze, which is a violation of our rules. For three years, we coexisted with these things; now she killed one. She has to be punished."

"Wait what?!" Chuck said.

"That's not fair." Said someone in the back.

The shouting continued, and Newt silenced everyone.
"Minho, you were out there with y/n. What do you think should happen?" Newt asked.

Minho sighed. "Well, I think that as long as we've all been here, no one's ever killed a Griever before." He put his hands on his hips, and took a deep breath in. "When I ran away, this dumb shank stayed behind to help Alby. I'm not sure if she's brave or stupid, but we need more of it. So I say.." Minho stoped taking and crossed him arms. "I say we make her a Runner."

"What?!" I heard someone yell.

"Let's not jump the gun here, Minho." Frypan said.

I could see Gally was getting angry and his face turned red, frown forming. "If there is one thing I know about the maze is that you do not"- he got cut off.

"It's the bloody box." Newt said, as he fast-walked away.
Everyone ran after him, towards the box. The metal groaned and moaned and screeched as it was coming up.
'It hasn't been a month yet; why would the box come back up?' I thought.
"Isn't it not supposed to come up yet?" I ask Newt, who is standing by the boxes edge along with everyone else.

"No, it's not." He replied, worried look on his face.

We watched as Gally pulled open the doors and revealed another boy. Another scared, little boy. He looked around 17-18 years old, and he was sitting down criss-cross in the middle of the box. His hand went to his forehead to cover the glare of the sun beating down. His blue shirt stuck to his chest, along with his black hair to his forehead. He slowly stood up and Gally helped him out onto the Glade. The boy fell and was scared. Then the boy ran. He ran and ran and ran and ran until he tripped and face planted to the ground. Everyone watched him fall and started to laugh. Newt walked over to him and started giving him the tour. I watched as Gally walked over to me and said, "Sundowns almost here." He stopped and shoved a finger to the middle of my chest, pushing me back a little. "That means it's almost time for this Greenie to be put in the pit." He finished.

I flinched a little and replied, "Okay, that's okay. But for the record, I probably saved Albys life."

"Saved Albys life?" He said, eyebrows arching down. "He can't be saved. He's suffering because of you, Greenie." He walked off angrily, stomping his way to work.

"Just so you know, my name's y/n! Stop calling me Greenie!" I yelled at him.

He turned around and walked backwards so he faced me. He flipped me off with both hands and continued walking back to his job.

"Asshole." I say.

-

"Bloody hell!" I hear someone yell from the forest. I dropped my shovel and headed into the woods. I make it to a slight clearing, and see Newt standing there, hitting a tree.

"Well thats one way to let your anger out." I say, walking towards him.

He turned to face me and said, "Sorry y/n, I was just having a little time to think."

"Is think the word?" I ask him. "Or is it more, let's punch this tree and see if it helps?"

"Ha ha." He says, face blank.

"Now tell me what's wrong." I say.
