SPENCER

As they walked through the front entrance of the school, everyone's eyes were on us. Kai was trailing behind her as she made her way through the crowd unbothered. "Don't pay attention to them." I could hear Kai behind her. We scanned the common area for Lycus and Hayley.
"Over here guys!" Looking off ahead of them, she sees the pair standing by the vending machines. Making their way over Hayley gives her a hug. "How are you feeling?" Spender shrugged her shoulders, "I feel okay today."
Looking up at Kai, he is looking off in the distance, not paying much attention to them. The girls shrug their shoulders at each other. "Everyone is staring Hals.." Spencer whispers softly as she leaned closer to her.

Hayley giggled, "You two have been the talk of the school since the party." Eyes going wide, promptly Kai placed his hand on her lower back and rubbed with his thumb. Without even looking, he could sense her distress.
"Why?" She asks with a hint of disgust in her voice. Hayley and Lycus looked at one another then back at her. "Spence, the both of you had masks on that night until then." Lycus explained as he rubbed the back of his neck. Hayley quickly added on, "Until that night, everyone in school thought you two hated each other."
Spencer shuddered in embarrassment, how did she forget they were wearing masks? Of course, the stares! Everyone was wondering who the hell they were that night. It all makes sense now, Kai's behavior.

Kai was so comfortable that night because no one knew who he was. Yes, she had a mask, but no one could mistake who was in the Christine costume. He was literally a Phantom that night. Willing to bet, he wasn't planning on showing his face that night.
Everyone was wondering who the second Phantom was, and now everyone knows it was Kai. So many people had seen us that entire night. Every passing day she finds the eyes of others very uncomfortable.

He isn't the type of guy to have that kind of behavior, when it's him and I, it doesn't matter. But around people? It wasn't happening. She wishes she could read his mind, find out his exact thoughts.

Lycus and Kai carried a conversation with each other as Hayley and her had their own. "I wish people would just mind their own business." She huffed as she noticed more staring. This was getting very old, very quickly.
"Take a picture, it might last longer!" She yelled at a group of four people as they gawked and snickered. Her blood was about it boil, why does it matter so much that it's Kai! She was allowed to be friends, hang around anyone she damn well pleased and it's not anyones business.
"Spence, you need to relax." Hayley told her as she felt her fits ball up. Nothing pisses her off more than a group of unwarranted gawkers. If they were in the celebrity sphere, they would be the paparazzi.

"Well they need to stop staring!" She shouted in frustration, pausing, she looked at Kai not paying attention then back at the group. "I know the stares are bothering him.." she states to Hayley.
Kai was a person who lived in the shadows, someone who lingered around. He wasn't the type of person who enjoyed the spotlight. He wasn't the type that knew how to deal with the uncomfortable stares of judgmental people.

How is he being so calm with everyone!?

Hayley looked at Kai while biting her cheek in curiosity. She looked back at me, "Are you sure you aren't projecting?" Spencer swiftly gasped as she hit Hayley in the side of the of the arm.

Abruptly, a flash goes off in front of her view. Shielding her eyes, hearing two students giggling. "That's it. I've had enough of this!" Spencer screeched as her entire body heat up. Her eyes had flames in them, her fits were ready to lunge. Spencer's feet began to start moving just as she was pulled back with barely any effort.
Turning her head she can see Kai standing there, firm grip on her book bag. His face told her she was being ridiculous. "They need to stop!" She shrieked. Kai sighed, "It's fine Graves, it'll be forgotten about in a few days."
