That night, after a day filled with emotional conversations and the unwavering support of his friends, Jake fell into a deep, restless sleep. His mind was a whirl of thoughts and memories, and soon he found himself in a dream that felt all too real.

Jake stood in a familiar place—an old park where he and Noelle used to spend time together. The air was cool and still, the moon casting a soft glow over everything. He looked around, feeling a strange mix of nostalgia and sorrow, and then he saw her. Noelle stood by the fountain, her figure illuminated by the moonlight, her expression unreadable.

Heart pounding, Jake approached her, the words he had longed to say for so long finally finding their way to his lips. "Noelle," he began, his voice trembling slightly, "I confessed to you, but you ignored me."

Noelle turned to face him, her eyes reflecting a sadness that mirrored his own. "Jake," she said softly, her voice carrying a weight of regret, "I'm sorry. I know it hurt you when I didn't respond. But I didn't feel the same way."

The words hit Jake like a physical blow, even though he had known them deep down for a long time. Hearing them from Noelle's lips brought a fresh wave of pain. "But why?" he asked, his voice breaking. "Why couldn't you just tell me then? Why did you let me hope?"

Noelle looked down, her hands clasped in front of her. "I was afraid, Jake. Afraid of hurting you, of making things awkward between us. I thought that if I just stayed silent, it would be easier for both of us. But I see now that it only made things worse."

Jake felt tears welling up in his eyes, the old wound reopening. "It hurt, Noelle. It really did. I kept wondering what I did wrong, why I wasn't good enough."

Noelle stepped closer, her expression full of remorse. "You were always good enough, Jake. It was never about you. It was about me and my own fears and uncertainties. You deserve someone who can give you the love you need and deserve. I'm sorry I couldn't be that person."

Jake took a deep breath, feeling a strange sense of closure wash over him. "I understand," he said, his voice steadier now. "I just needed to hear it, to know that it wasn't all in my head."

Noelle nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I'm glad we could have this talk, even if it's just in a dream. I hope you can find happiness, Jake. I really do."

Jake felt a bittersweet smile form on his lips. "I'm trying. I've found someone who makes me happy, someone who understands me."

Noelle smiled softly. "That's good to hear. Hold on to that, Jake. Don't let the past hold you back from your future."

The scene around them began to blur, and Jake felt himself being pulled away, the dream fading. As he woke up, the early morning light filtering through his window, he felt a mix of emotions—sadness, relief, and a renewed sense of clarity.

Sitting up in bed, Jake took a deep breath, feeling the remnants of the dream linger. It had been painful to relive those moments, but it had also given him a sense of closure he hadn't realized he needed. He thought of Ziah, her understanding and support, and felt a warmth spread through him.

With the weight of the past finally beginning to lift, Jake knew he could face the day with a clearer heart and a stronger resolve. He was ready to move forward, embrace the future with Ziah, and continue building a life filled with new memories and happiness.

As the early morning light filtered through the curtains, Jake awoke from his dream feeling a mix of emotions. The dream had been intense, leaving him with a lingering sense of melancholy. He sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes and trying to shake off the remnants of his encounter with Noelle.
