"Agh!" Lorelai shouted, stepping in the kitchen.
"What?" Rory asked concerned.
"The car won't start."
"What happened?" Y/N asked.
"I don't know, its just- dead. I turn the key, it makes a horrible sound."
"What kind of sound?"
"Oh, like raahhh, rahhh, rahhh, y'know? But less feminine." Lorelai said, imitating the car.
"That's the battery." Rory answered.
"Well, what did I ever do to make the battery mad?"
"You've kept the radio on all night, killing the battery, you've kept the lights on all night, killing the battery, you've kept the door open, which keeps the ceiling light on all night, killing the battery." Y/N said, putting her notes in her backpack.
"Okay, I've done multiple things to make the battery mad." Lorelai said defeated.
"Are you gonna walk?" Rory asked.
"I'm wearing heels."
"Change your shoes."
"I'd have to change my outfit."
"Change your outfit."
"I'd have to walk upstairs."
"Suddenly, we're living with the Zsa Zsa Gabor."
Y/N smiled.
"I'm gonna call Michel."
"That thing is too small." Rory said, looking at Y/N trying to get all of her stuff in her backpack.
Meanwhile, Michel answered the phone.
"Independence Inn-" he said.
"Hold on, Michel." Lorelai said, hearing Rory's statement. "That backpack is not too small. Take your schoolbooks and leave the other books."
"I need all of my other books." Y/N told her.
"You don't need all of these. 'Edna St Vincent Millay'?"
"That's my bus book."
"Uh-huh. What's the 'Faulkner'?"
"My other bus book."
"So just take one bus book."
"Can't do that." Rory added.
"Why?"
"The 'Millay' is a biography, and sometimes if I'm on the bus and I pull out the biography, I think to myself 'I don't really feel like reading about a person's life right now.' then I'll switch to the novel. And sometimes if I'm not into the novel, I'll switch back." Y/N answered.
"Hmph. Still there, Michel?" Lorelai asked, turning back to the phone.
"Yes, I-"
"Hold on." Lorelai interrupted him. "What is the 'Gore Vidal'?"
"Oh, that's my lunch book." Y/N replied.
"Uh-huh. So lose the 'Vidal' or the 'Faulkner'. You don't need two novels."
" 'Vidal' is essays."
"But the 'Eudora Welty' is not essays or biography.
"Right."
"So, it's another novel. Lose it."
"Nuh-uh. It's short stories."
"Ugh. This is sickness. Michel?"
