The winter came in Stars Hollow. There was snow everywhere, people were laughing, and the three girls were building a snowman for the Snowman Contest.
"How do you like that mouth?" Lorelai asked.
"It's not very mouth-like." Rory replied.
"It's tilted to the side." Y/N added.
"It was intentional. It gives her a unique expression." Lorelai answered.
"Like she had a stroke?"
"Fine. I'll use the Mrs. Potato head lips."
"No, forget it. Leave stroke mouth." Rory said. "It's not like we're gonna win this anyway."
"Woah, bad attitude." Lorelai whispered.
"Mom, face it. That is the single most incredible snowman I have ever seen." Rory said, pointing at the one next to them.
"I'm sorry, that snowman is over the top. Way too showy. It's screaming 'I'm incredible. I'm special. Look at me!'. "
"Kind of the point of a snowman-building contest."
Y/N replied.
Lorelai turned and gave the man a death-glare. She smiled mischievously.
"I hate this man with every fiber of my being."
"He looks nice." Rory said.
"He's a ringer."
"How'd you figure?"
"Someone recruited him, promised him a handsome sum, financed his theatrical snowman accoutrements so he could snatch victory away from a deserving local in order to bag the contest prize for himself."
"Seems a little elaborate considering the prize is a set of U. S. Quarters." Y/N said.
"We're ignoring him now. So, what are we gonna do on your school break?"
"A lot of nothing." Rory answered.
"Sounds good."
"Plus some homework." Y/N added.
"And a lot of movies." Lorelai said.
"Oh! We have to rent 'Godfather III' on DVD." Rory told them.
"You're kidding."
"In audio commentary, Coppola actually defends casting Sofia."
"Now, that is fatherly love. What's this homework you have to do?"
"Stuff for the paper." Rory said.
"What? Why?"
"Because Paris wants the first issue back to be a double issue, so we have to prep over break. She says the news never sleep."
"What about Paris? Does she sleep?" Lorelai asked.
"I think she periodically makes a whirring noise then shuts down."
"You can't work the whole time."
"I won't. I promise." Rory smiled.
"And you?" Lorelai asked Y/N.
"I don't have that much, so I'm pretty free."
"That's good to hear."
Y/N turned her head to look behind Lorelai and saw the man power buffing his snowman.
"Oh, my God." she said.
"What?"
The other two turned and all three of them started at the man.
