Lavender pov:
Just when you think the storm is over, that the worst has passed it somehow gets worse. She was a house in the middle of a storm and I was desperately trying to protect her. Shingles were being ripped off the roof, siding tore apart and windows smashed in. I wasn't big enough to cover her, she revived blows from sides I coudent reach. All I wanted to do was protect her yet in the process I think I made it worse.
7 months.
We have been in this cramped cottage for seven months now and the magic has worn off. Surviving on the same meals for weeks straight, nothing around us but wilderness and one bar of cell service for emergencies.
The first week was rough, she was in the worst state I've ever seen her in and it scared me to death.
"Taylor we're here" I tapped her on the shoulder and slid out of the suv to help unload some things.
The ride here was quiet due to Taylor sleeping but she kept whimpering In her sleep. Does the world not see that she is just a girl? A girl with a heart and a passion.
The door to the suv slammed and I knew I was in for it.
"Where the fuck is this" Taylor groaned
It wasn't like she hated the outdoors- she just preferred to sleep in a cosy house with proper ac.
"Camp" I bit my tounge from starting shit.
Please be calm , please be calm.
"No I wanna go home" she immediately turned around to grab the car door handle.
"Taylor give it a chance" I said quickly grabbing her arm.
She stopped for a moment and glanced at me over her shoulder.
Silently she nodded her head unwillingly and turned around only to stop into the small cabin.
Great, here we go.
"Thanks nick" I chirped as he handed me the last of the luggage.
"Just give us a call if you need anything. We're all stationed at the entrance about a mile up the road" he spoke
After he left I made my way inside and found Taylor sitting on the small sofa staring out the window.
"Hey I know it's not ideal but it gets us away from everything for a while" I offered sliding onto the couch next to her.
"I don't want to be here" she mumbled
Taking a quiet deep breath I glanced out the window to see the lake, how peaceful it was.
"I know babe, but it'll get better. I promise. I know it dose t feel like that now b-
"Your not understanding- I don't want to be HERE" she said again refusing to look me in the eyes.
Gravity sunk in at what she was saying and I felt a sudden wave of nausea roll over my body. She was talking about not wanting to be alive. At all. Fear clutched its hold on me when I realized that I might be over my head. I may have taken off too much and Taylor really may need professional help.
Careful I set my hand atop of hers and she glanced down towards our hands.
"Let's take this one day at a time" I whispered, afraid if I spoke too loud she would break.
Taylor simply nodded as her eyes shifted back out the window.
What had I done?
