Past,

Twelve years ago,

"My baby is home," Ma hugged me tightly after dropping multiple kisses all over my face. I smiled at her love and kissed her forehead.

"Is Papa taking good care of you?" I teased Papa who scowled at me.

"No one ever did put a finger on my love for your mother, Dev," Papa ruffled my hair, "You grew up beard and hair, huh?"

"It's started growing now. So, I thought to show it to you both and Anu," I blushed, scratching my nape. Looking at my room, I smiled, "Is she home? Is she waiting for me in my room? It's been three years without seeing her. It's her birthday at the end of the month. Are her parents celebrating it grandly? Leave it! But is she here, Ma?"

Ma walked to me and ran her palms along my face, "Are you still obsessed with her?" she asked.

I shook my head, moving her palms away from my face, "I love her," I muttered.

"I don't want you to make any fuss regarding Annie, Dev," Papa said in a final tone, glaring at me. "She isn't in Delhi."

"Dev-"

I ran to my bedroom and punched the wall. The blood spat over the wall while I screamed, "Anu!"

"I need to find her. I have to. I have been counting on days to see her and I can't let her go away from me. I will find her." I vowed to myself.

Grabbing the landline in my room, I called the number she had in her room but the line went off when she didn't lift the calls.

I called their main landline and the call was answered, "Hello, Anu. I came home-"

"It's Aasthik Khurrana, Dev. Don't call Annie. I will save my daughter to myself and away from your crazy obsession," he hung up the call on me.
