~Laylas POV~

As the four of us walked along the platform, I couldn't help but notice the stares coming in my direction as I held hands with Draco. Was it that unusual that he didn't show affection in public?
It felt uncomfortable but somewhat I felt special, like he came out of his shell, for me. That is until we get to Hogwarts, and we have to act like we're just friends, I mean we are friends, he hasn't exactly made anything official.

But I knew he was mine, and I was his.

"Come on let's get a seat!" Raelyn rushed us, waving from infront as she dragged Blaise behind.

I rolled my eyes as me and Draco kept our pace, watching the two of them disappear into the crowds.

"Found yourself a little boyfriend over Christmas Layla?", I heard someone snap as I whipped my head to the right.
Leaning against the wall with Crabbe and Goyle, Pansy stood smirking with her arms folded.

"Aw, you jealous Pans?", I fake pouted.
She scoffed, "Oh please, he'll drop you the second you fall for him, just like he does with every girl", she smirked, walking away into the train with Crabbe and Goyle on her toes.

I felt myself tense, my hand got squeezed by Draco, I looked up at him, "That's not going to happen," he reassured me, rubbing his thumb along my hand. "I know", I gave a small smile to him.

We found Blaise and Raelyn sitting beside each other, with two empty seats infront of them, I scooted in first, then Draco beside me.
"About time! We kept having to tell people to go away", Raelyn laughed.
"Sorry, Pansy happened", I rolled my eyes.
"What now?", she groaned.

"Nothing, she's just a jealous twat", Draco chuckled.

As we walked into The Great Hall for dinner, I noticed Harry, Ron and Hermoine already sitting, the only ones on the room. They must have stayed here over Christmas break I thought.

I couldn't think of anything worse than staying here over Christmas, who didn't love going home over Christmas? I mean, I suppose with Harry having no parents, who else would he have gone to? I felt guilt rush over me at the thought.

As we sat around our house table, no one really spoke. The only sound were people eating and drinking, knifes and forks hitting and scraping against plates.

"They've escaped they've escaped!" I heard a familiar accent shout, a boy in Gryfindoor, Seamus Finnigan, I believe.

I dropped my knife and fork.

It couldn't be.

Escaped? No way.

I turned on my seat and sat up, the only Slytherin rushing across to the Gryfindorr table.

I felt everything was in slow motion. As I stood behind Harry, Seamus had the newspaper on the table.

'Mass Breakout from Azkaban'

'Several High - Security Prisoners Escape'

It read, in large black and white writing.

My heart stopped. I couldn't breathe.

There she was, on the front paper, chains around her, screaming. She was a maniac. She escaped. She was my mother.

"Layla?" I heard someone shout from behind me.

Harry turned around, looking at me.
"Are you alright Layla?", he asked.

"No.. I.. I need to get out of here", I barely let out.
