Episode 3: The gold and silver bandits

Our episode opens up on the streets of Triforia where we see two thieves: a golden-clad robot (ex-machine empire) and a silver-haired Xybrian carrying a duffle bag of unknown supplies, the two bumping through crowds of alien pedestrians as they run under a giant Mondrill that looms over the capital city. the two are being chased by phasers, under the command of a monster named Glutt who shouts "stop those thieves!" Otto then says "yo Gray, do your thing!" Gray says "on it, Otto" and uses the telekinesis from his forehead gem to knock over a bunch of boxes and barrels for the phasers to trip on, Otto calling out to Glutt shouting "this stuff belongs to the people, not you Monstar jerks!" before the two escape aboard a subway, Otto then says "and that's why nobody messes with the gold and silver bandits! Zodiax can kiss my shiny metal..." Gray then interrupts by shouting "OTTO!" Otto is frustrated, telling him "you almost never laugh at my jokes, Gray. I get you Xybrians can read minds so you can probably see 'em coming from a mile away, but can you at least smile and laugh for me, your one and only brother?" Gray crosses his arms, telling Otto "I don't laugh, I don't smile, and we're not brothers" Otto then turns away and says to himself "you can be such a buzzkill, you know that?" before arriving at the impoverished lower wards of Triforia, Otto announcing his and gray's return exclaiming that the gold and silver bandits have arrived with the daily haul dropping the duffle bag full of food, clothing, and medical supplies to provide for the people of the lower wards. Otto telling Gray "come on, we did a good thing. that gotta put a smile on your face" Gray then looks at a wanted poster with Otto and Gray's faces on it and tells Otto to look at it, Gray exclaiming "we're wanted men Otto, don't you get it? the monstar syndicate won't stop hunting us until we're dead. how long will it be 'till everyone from bounty hunters to space patrol delta come looking for us? Otto?" Otto then notices a wanted poster with pictures of the core five Supernova rangers Leon, Wolfie, Tarus, Cami, and Marlon on it, Otto telling Gray "yo Gray check this out, I think we might have just found our next big score" making Gray facepalm. we then cut to Gamma base on the simudeck with the core five Supernova rangers fighting hologram Phasers, Wolfie and Tarus getting the hang of the blaster function of their morphers as the two shoot down several phasers on the left while Leon, Cami, and Marlon shoot on the right, once the simulation ends the five de-morph with Leon putting his hand on Wolfie's shoulder complimenting how quickly he's gotten the hang of this ranger training followed by the two bro-fisting, Cami making the sassy comment "a boy and his dog, how cute" Wolfie crosses his arms and says "I'm not cute" while Tarus and Marlon both chuckle at him. Syrin enters the room informing the five that they'll be late for Draco's latest lesson. the five then enter the bridge where Draco shows them the holographic image of a Mondrill on the holo-table, Draco explaining to his five (six if you count Siryn) students that the Mondrills are gargantuan drill-like machines planted in the surface of every planet controlled by the Monstar Syndicate, designed to drill into the cores of living worlds to drain their energy. however Marlon fell asleep, causing an irritated Syrin to slap him waking him up reminding him to pay attention, Cami telling her "thank you" while Leon raises his hand asking what exactly the Monstar syndicate want with energy from the cores of living worlds. Draco explains saying "nobody knows for sure, but many believe Zodiax wants to use that energy for nefarious purposes" Tarus interjects, saying "I've never seen one before in person, but I've heard stories about them during my time as a Monstar gladiator" Draco then instructs our heroes telling them that he will be sending them to the planet Triforia to disable the Mondrill on that planet before we cut to the Supernova zords being deployed from Gamma Base, meanwhile on the streets of Triforia Otto and Gray turn their heads up to see the five Supernova starzords flying high above their heads, Otto exclaiming "look Gray, it's the power rangers! they're so cool, come on gray show some excitement" in a super-enthusiastic tone as he elbows his dour Xybrian buddy, meanwhile inside the cockpit of the Mondrill in the center of Triforia's capital city Glutt is busy sipping a glass of blue worm juice only for him to spot the starzords flying from the window causing him to crush his glass with anger, exclaiming "Power Rangers? what are they doing here! contact lord Zodiax immediately" scaring the phasers. we then cut to Zodiax's fotress on the Cimmerian planet where we see a small squid-themed ship dock into the evil-looking castle. we then see two squid-themed bounty hunters enter Zodiax's throne room with Zodiax asking the two "and who may you be?" as Hegemon readies his spear growling at the duo. the dapper-looking squid introduces himself, saying "my name is Krakulus, this is my niece Octania. we're bounty hunters, we thought you'd be interested in our service" as he hands Zodiax a pair of wanted posters while Octania is busy texting on her phone. Hegemon points his spear at the two, telling them "lord Zodiax has no interest in you bounty hunter scum, now leave before I vaporize you!" firing a beam from his spear that vaporizes Octania's phone, the bratty alien cephalopod teenager exclaiming "hey, that was the newest squidberry model you jerk! you'll have to pay for that!" only for Krakulus to smack Octania upside the head, telling her that it's best they leave. Zodiax flips through the wanted posters, seeing a picture of Otto and Gray's faces saying "gold and silver bandits? don't care" tossing their poster aside. however he takes interest in the second poster containing pictures of the five Supernova rangers, saying "this however..." only for his train of thought to get interrupted by an incoming transmission from Glutt who informs Zodiax that the Power Rangers are on Triforia and he needs them to be disposed of immediately before they can liberate the planet from Monstar control. Zodiax then says "don't worry Glutt, I will send Hegemon to Triforia immediately to deal with your ranger problem" before we cut to the five unmorphed Supernova rangers leaving the spaceport taking a stroll through the streets of Triforia, Leon looking up at the humongous Mondrill and saying "so that's a mondrill? I didn't expect it to be that big" Wolfie telling him "and to think there's one of those on every planet occupied by the Monstar syndicate, we sure have our work cut out for us" meanwhile Cami turns his head to Tarus to see him sitting down meditating, Cami asking the hulking cyborg minotaur what he's doing. Tarus tells her that he's practicing his inner peace, saying that since he defected from the Monstar syndicate he's been busy trying to suppress his urge for violence. meanwhile Marlon is busy ordering alien kebabs from a nearby vendor before handing them to each of his teammates, the five tasting each of them all finding them to taste pretty nasty while Marlon is the only one who thinks they taste good. little do our heroes know they are being watched from an alleyway by Otto and Gray, Otto looking at the wanted poster saying "they're the power rangers?" meanwhile Gray has a vision of the future showing the two of them making friends with Leon followed by the flashing image of two gold and silver Nova crystals. Otto notices the gem on Gray's forehead glowing asking him "Gray, are you having one of those future visions of yours again?" Gray snaps out of his trance and says "Otto, I think we nab the red one first. I saw him in my vision helping us achieve that big score you've been talking about" Otto then pats Gray on the shoulder "great idea", Otto electrocuting Leon from behind with a jolt from electric wires that extend from his fingers allowing him and Gray to carry the unconscious Leon into the alleyway. Cami then exclaims "Leon!" as she sees him being taken away by Otto and Gray. the four rangers agree to split up and look for him before we cut to Hegemon entering the cockpit of the Mondrill to shake hands with Glutt who's thankful that Hegemon came, Hegemon telling Glutt that he ordered the troops to search the whole city for the rangers for him so that he can go in for the kill, Glutt applauding exclaiming "oh goodie! and while you're at it, keep an eye out for a pair of bandits that have been causing me trouble. they're after a special treasure I have in my possession" opening up a box with the monstar emblem containing the Gold and Silver nova crystals that he locks up in a safe before we cut to Leon waking up in the alleyway causing him to panic. Leon asks "where am I? Cami? Marlon? Wolfie? Tarus?" only for him to bump into Otto and Gray freaking him out, the fast-talking Otto exclaiming "woah there buddy, you're a long way from home earthing. nice to meet you, name's Otto and this is my partner Gray, the two of us are like brothers" Gray correcting him by saying "we're not brothers" Otto tells Leon "don't mind Gray, he can be a real stick-in-the-mud sometimes" before asking him what his name is. Leon then says "my name's Leon Holt, leader of the Power Rangers Supernova. if you excuse me, I need to get back to my team" only for Gray to hold him in place with his telekinesis, Leon noticing the glowing gemstone on Gray's forehead asking him "you're Xybrian, huh?" Gray says "Indeed I am, and Otto here is machine empire" Otto then exclaims "that's ex-machine empire to you pal. the remnants of the empire disbanded after refusing the offer to join the monstar syndicate, okay?" Leon then asks "what do you two want with me?" Gray then lets Leon go causing him to fall to the ground followed by Otto telling him "come with us and we'll explain the whole ordeal" Leon then follows the two into a building which turns out to be a casino crawling with all kinds of alien scum and villainy who all give Leon menacing looks, Leon looking around and saying "a Casino? really?" as we see Otto playing an alien card game with some of the other alien patrons while Gray sits with Leon at the bar watching him play, Gray explaining to Leon "Otto fancies himself a devil-may-care scamp and gambler, he likes to hang out at this place all the time" Otto after winning the game sits between Leon and Gray, Otto explaining to Leon "so about why we abducted you, we need your help for us to achieve our big score" Leon exclaims "big score? wait a minute" and turns his head to see a wanted poster with Otto and Gray's faces on it exclaiming "gold and silver bandits? you guys are criminals!" Otto tells Leon "yes but we're the good kind of criminals, because we only steal from the bad guys" only for an alien casino patron to alert a platoon of phasers informing them that the bandits are over there. Otto then says "oh crud, we've been found out! it's time we split!" Leon however refuses to run and has an unmorphed fight with the phasers to protect Otto and Gray before we cut to Cami, Wolfie, Marlon, and Tarus re-uniting in the Triforian town square the four rangers bringing each other the bad news that none of them have found Leon followed by the four being surrounded by Phasers prompting the four to whip out their Nova crystals shouting "Nova crystal, activate!" plugging them into their Nova blast morphers before shouting their morph call "Supernova, blast off!" (cue morphing sequence followed by Kyuranger episode 2 fight) the blue, green, black, and yellow Supernova rangers fight off the endless waves of footsoldiers before things go from bad to worse when none other than Hegemon teleports onto the scene, Hegemon standing atop a balcony exclaiming "enough! now it's time I finish off you power pests myself!" Wolfie then exclaims "you again!" and leaps onto the balcony to attack Hegemon only for him to get knocked on his rear followed by Hegemon mopping the floor with the rangers swinging his spear around knocking them all like ragdolls before exclaiming "you will PAY for humiliating my master Zodiax back on Mirinoi!" firing a barrage of laser arrows from his crossbow-spear forcing the four Supernova rangers to take evasive action, Cami contacting Draco telling him to send in the zords, Draco saying "right on it, Cami" deploying the Chameleon, Wolf, Bull, and Swordfish starzords from Gamma Base before arriving on Triforia for them to hop in and make their escape. Hegemon watches them and laughs, saying "run all you like, you can never escape the grasp of the Monstar syndicate" before we cut to Leon, Otto, and Gray running from the phasers escaping into the lower wards below, Leon asking "where are we?" Gray tells Leon "the lower wards of Triforia, where the impoverished populace live in constant fear while Monstar syndicate's rich and powerful live comfortable lives up above, this place is where Otto and I live" Leon then exclaims "this is where you live?" Otto then says "yep, home sweet home. it's a bit of a fixer-upper but you'll get used to it" Leon sees people of various alien species living in poverty sitting around eating scraps of food while an alien mother tends to her sick child Leon exclaiming "I had no idea things were so bad down here" Otto then says "this is why Gray and I became thieves, we steal things such as food, clothing, and medicine from the Monstar syndicate and give them to these poor folks down here. and that's how we came to be known as the gold and silver bandits" Leon then asks "so that's why you needed help from a power ranger such as me, so that I can help you steal the necessary supplies from the Monstar syndicate to provide for them" Otto puts his arm around Leon and says "of course buddy! and that big score we've been talking about, we plan on stealing from Glutt, he's the fat, disgusting slob of a warlord that rules over this planet with an iron fist. and then you and your ranger buddies can take him down for good" all the while Gray is busy having a horrible future vision of Glutt dropping all three of them in a fiery pit. Leon notices Gray spacing out asking Otto if he's alright, and Otto says "he's just having another one of his future visions, good ol' Xybrian clairvoyance. it's why he never laughs at my jokes, he can predict just about anything" before we cut back to Gamma base up in space where we see Siryn tending to the injuries of the four rangers, first patching up Tarus's robotic arms before Marlon takes the opportunity to flirt with Siryn telling her "hey Siryn, whadda say you treat me in my personal quarters?" only for her to smack Marlon upside the head with her tablet before scanning both Wolfie and Cami for their injuries, Siryn telling them "your first fight with Hegemon went pretty bad, didn't it" Cami tells her "worse than that, it went horribly. probably because we were one team member short" Draco then asks the rangers "where is Leon exactly? he wasn't with you when you all came back battered and bruised" Cami then says "Leon was abducted by what looked to be a silver-haired Xybrian and a golden robot" Draco gasps, saying "you're not talking about the gold and silver bandits are you?" Cami then asks him "you've heard of them?" Draco tells her "they're pretty famous criminals, thieves who are said to steal from our enemies the Monstar syndicate and give back to the people. while I do admit their cause is noble, they're still criminals and outlaws nonetheless. hope Leon doesn't get himself into too much trouble down there" before we cut back to Triforia where Leon, Otto, and Gray sneak through the door at the base of the Mondrill, the trio sneaking around the building hiding from phasers with Gray using his telekinesis to trip an alarm causing them to all run out of the room. the two then find where they're keeping all the food, clothing, and medical supplies where Leon helps Otto and Gray stuff them all inside three duffle bags that Leon, Otto, and Gray each carry. however Otto tells Leon and Gray that they haven't achieved the big score yet, telling them that there's still one more thing they need, Otto using his technopathy to hack into the elevator causing it to go down and open up for them. Gray has another future vision, the same one as before Gray trying to warn Otto that this might not be a good idea saying that they should go. Otto shrugs and tells Gray "relax, I know what I'm doing. now hop on you two!" as the trio board the elevator taking it to the top floor of the Mondrill, Leon asking what this place is. Otto tells Leon "this is Glutt's personal quarters where he keeps a secret treasure locked in a safe, a treasure that's bound to make us rich enough to afford Gray and I a ticket off this forsaken rock. luckily I happen to be an expert lockpick and safe-cracking machine" before using his technopathy to crack the safe causing it to open revealing a box inside, Otto exclaiming "jackpot!" opening it up revealing the gold and silver Nova crystals inside. Leon's eyes widen, exclaiming "those are Nova crystals!" Gray recognizing them from his visions. Otto asks Leon "Nova what?" Leon then shows Otto and Gray his Nova crystal and tells them "this is a Nova crystal, it's the source of my team's ranger powers" Gray then senses someone coming and suddenly Glutt and Hegemon both enter the room, Hegemon exclaiming "well if it isn't the red power ranger, it seems you've made some new friends!" Glutt recognizes them as the gold and silver bandits summons the phasers exclaiming "what are you waiting for? seize them!" Leon telling Otto and Gray it's best they get out of here only for Gray to suddenly betray his friends freezing the two in place with his telekinesis allowing the phasers to apprehend Leon and Otto. Leon then shouts "traitor!" follow by Otto exclaiming "how could you Gray? you were my brother! I loved you!" Gray tells Otto "we were never brothers" followed by Glutt thanking Gray for coming to his senses and ratting out these dangerous criminals, saying that Zodiax will pay him a mighty fine reward before ordering Hegemon and the phasers to take them to the boiler room, saying that the robot could be melted down for fresh scrapmetal. we then see Leon and Otto in chains dangling over a pit of lava, Otto exclaiming "I'm too young to get my metal melted!" Leon assuring Otto that he has faith in his friends to come to their rescue while Gray watches, Gray telling them "I know how hurt you must feel, but I did what I had to in order to set in motion the proper chain of events that lead to the outcome where we all make it out of here alive. I know you can't understand me because you both lack the clairvoyance I possess, but it will make sense in time" Hegemon then informs Glutt that Zodiax will be arriving here shortly to witness the burning of the red ranger, making Glutt excited. we then see Zodiax teleport into the facility prompting all the phasers to stand and salute as he marches toward his underlings, Hegemon kneeling before his master informing him that the red ranger has been captured. Zodiax turns his head to see Leon and Otto both dangling over the pit of lava and laughs evilly, saying "oh I've been looking forward to this, after you humiliated me in our last duel I will enjoy watching you burn" while Leon has a terrified look on his face. Glutt then tells him "you can thank me later oh great one, the pleasure is all mine. although I had unexpected help from this young lad" introducing Zodiax to Gray. Zodiax strokes Gray's silver hair, telling him "I sense great potential in you, Xybrian" Gray turns to Glutt and asks him "what about my reward? I deserve one after I sold them out to you" Glutt then hands his treasure over to Gray who takes the box containing the gold and silver Nova crystals, Hegemon whispering into Zodiax's ear saying that he thinks the Xybrian is up to something. Gray then uses his telekinesis to flip the switch closing the hatch over the smelting pit as well as releasing Leon and Otto from the chain, Gray running over to rejoin Leon and Otto, Gray apologizing to them for his betrayal, Gray holding his hand out to Otto telling him "I would never betray my brother" Otto exclaiming "alright, the gold and silver bandits are back in business!" Glutt exclaiming "you tricked me you silver-haired punk!" Zodiax holds his sword up to Glutt's neck telling him "you let those Nova crystals slip out of your grasp you gullible idiot!" Glutt promises Zodiax he won't let them escape, Zodiax telling him "you better" prompting Glutt to order the phasers to recapture them. Leon, Otto, and Gray are surrounded by phasers, followed by the gold and silver Nova crystals floating out of the box and glowing bright, Otto grabbing the gold one and Gray grabbing the silver one causing the Gold and Silver morphin' masters to appear before them in a light so bright it temporarily blinds the phasers, Hegemon readying his spear to protect his master Zodiax exclaiming "Morphin' Masters? come with me my liege, it's not safe for you here anymore. you deal with this problem by yourself Glutt" before grabbing Zodiax's arm as the two teleport away while Glutt is absolutely terrified by the sight of the Morphin' Masters as they shoot lightning bolts from their staffs causing Nova Blast morphers to materialize on Otto and Gray's wrists. Leon is ecstatic, asking the two "you know what this means? you guys are rangers now" Otto exclaims "us, power rangers?" Gray telling Otto "this is the outcome I was talking about, the one I saw in my future visions" Master Silver telling Otto "Very observant of you, Xybrian" followed by Master Gold telling the two "you two have been chosen by the Nova Crystals for your selfless acts of giving back to the people" before the Gold and Silver Morphin' Masters disappear. Leon then pulls out his Nova Crystal and tells the two to follow his lead. Leon, Otto, and Gray shout "Nova Crystal, activate!" as they plug their Nova Crystals into their morphers before shouting their morph call "Supernova, blast off!" (cue morphing sequence followed by Kyuranger episode 2 second fight) Glutt exclaiming "more power rangers?" followed by the red, gold, and silver rangers firing blasts from their morphers at Glutt knocking him through the wall. they then take the fight outside to fight off the phasers, Leon forming the Nova sword with Otto following suit, Leon slashing his way through phasers with ease while the sword proves too heavy for Otto who decides to switch the weapon to a different configuration that's more his style: the Nova crossbow which he uses to shoot down phasers while Gray uses his weapon the Nova scythe, the gold and silver rangers double-teaming to destroy the remaining phasers followed by the two high-fiving. however Glutt arrives on the scene to swing his massive tail around at the ranger trio forcing them to dodge his attack, however Gray manages to get him close and hold him down with his Nova scythe allowing Otto to get some shots in with his Nova crossbow. Leo then tells the two no rangers "now it's time to finish this guy off together!" the three charging up their Nova Blast morphers, all shouting "Nova blast morpher, star strike!" in unison to destroy Glutt with their combo move. Leon then contacts Gamma base, informing his teammates that he's still alive and he's got some new friends he'd like them to meet, informing them that they're also power rangers now, Draco impressed to hear that Leon found two new recruits. the others are relieved to hear that Leon's okay, Leon telling them to bring their zords to that they can help take out that Mondrill and liberate Triforia. we then see the Lion, Chameleon, Swordfish, Wolf, and Bull starzords being deployed from Gamma base before arriving at Triforia allowing Leon to hop in the lion zord to join his teammates, Otto exclaiming "hey, where's ours?" as the five combine their zords to form the Supernova megazord (cue Kyuranger episode 2 megazord fight). meanwhile at Zodiax's fortress Zodiax sits on his throne watching footage on the monitor of the Megazord stomping towards the Mondrill, Hegemon informing his master that Glutt has been destroyed and the rangers are gonna destroy the Mondrill on Triforia. Zodiax clenches his fist and says "we must defend that Mondrill at all costs, fire the enlarging beam!" prompting Hegemon to press a button on the computer console causing the top of the fortress's central tower to open up revealing a large cannon inside that fires a purple energy beam into space that reaches Triforia causing Glutt to grow giant, the five exclaiming "this just got so much worse!" Glutt exclaiming "if you rangers wanna get to this here Mondrill, you're gonna have to go through me first!" as the Mondrill launches into space. Leon then says "fine by me! let's get him guys!" only for Glutt to knock over the Supernova megazord with his tail while Otto and Gray watch, Otto saying "this got bad" Gray telling him "Indeed" Leon then contacts Siryn asking her if she's been working on any new zords for his new friends, Siryn informing him that the Libra and Cobra starzords are ready to launch followed by Libra and Cobra starzords being deployed from Gamma base before we cut to Otto and Gray looking up to see the two new zords enter Triforia's atmosphere out of hyperspace, Gray telling Otto "I think these ones are ours" Otto telling Gray "then what are we waiting for brother? Leon needs us!" the two teleporting into the cockpits of their respective zords both of which transform into their more humanoid forms to fight off Glutt only for the Supernova megazord to protect the two from an incoming attack by Glutt's coin cannon which damages the Chameleon and Swordfish zords. Cami and Marlon both detach their zords allowing the Libra and Cobra starzords to take their place as the Supernova Megazord's new arms. the Libra zord arm uses its shields to block Glutt's coin attack before extending the Cobra arm to fling Glutt into the airborne Mondrill. the Supernova megazord then uses a gold and silver star strike to destroy both Glutt and the Mondrill once and for all, the people of Triforia cheering for the rangers now that their planet has been freed from Monstar tyranny, much to the frustration of Zodiax who's angry that the Monstar syndicate just lost control of one of their occupied worlds. we then cut back to Gamma base where the Supernova rangers (now de-morphed) sit in the bridge around the war table where Draco congratulates the team on having successfully destroyed their first Mondrill. however Otto and Gray both enter the room in their spiffy new uniforms with Otto saying "so this is Gamma base, pretty cozy I must say" before sipping a can of oil from a straw while Gray looks at Cammie who recognizes them exclaiming "hey you two are the thieves who abducted Leon!" only for Leon to run up and hug Otto and Gray welcoming them to SPG academy with open arms, Leon telling Cami that they're his friends now introducing Otto and Gray to Tarus, Wolfie, Cami, Marlon, and Commander Draco with Draco exclaiming "I don't believe it, the Gold and Silver bandits!" Otto and Gray both show off their Nova Crystals, Otto saying "In the flesh!" Gray saying "and we're power rangers now" Otto exclaiming "hey that's what I was gonna say! you just read my mind" the others all watch Leon roughhousing with the two new recruits only for Wolfie to start joining in on the fun with Tarus saying "hey, I used to be a member of the Monstar syndicate and you guys welcomed me into the team with open arms, you should do the same with those two" Marlon says "fair point" while Siryn asks "why do I feel like things are gonna be really chaotic with those two around?" Cami telling her "I'm with you on that one sister" Draco chuckles, telling them "two more rangers in our ranks, the team is growing faster than I anticipated" before we cut to the desert planet of Antares where an orange scorpion zord enters the planet's atmosphere before landing atop a sand dune followed by a mysterious stranger in desert garb exiting the zord wearing the orange Nova crystal as a pendant which glows ending our episode on  a cliffhanger.
