Episode 5: Dreams of Zephyros

Our episode opens up with Draco and Siryn watching the seven Supernova rangers fighting Phasers on the simudeck, only for the power of their Nova Crystals to run out of energy causing them to de-morph and get their butts kicked by the holographic phasers wondering just what the heck happened. Draco explains to the seven that the Nova Crystals were forged from cosmic energy thousands of years ago by the Morphin Masters, however the energy contained within them is still finite and runs out quickly which is why they must use that power wisely. Siryn then adjusts her goggles and tells the rangers that she came up with a solution, presenting them with a charging station she built for the Nova crystals to recharge their cosmic energy. Cami then says "thanks Siryn, you're a live-saver!" as Leon, Wolfie, Tarus, Cami, and Marlon plug each of their Nova crystals into the charging station. Otto and Gray are both confused, Otto asking "what about our Nova crystals?" Siryn tells them "sorry, but the charging station can only charge five Nova crystals at a time" Draco puts his arms around the duo and tells them "you two will have to stay here with me at Gamma Base for the next mission" while Siryn exits the room much to the confusion of the others, walking through the hallways holding her tablet close to her chest before we cut to a flashback scene on the planet of Zephyros, a gas giant with fields of floating islands where the bird people known as Zephyrosians build their cities on. we then zoom into one of these cities to see a little pink bird girl watching the clouds from the comfort of her bedroom (this is meant to be young Siryn), only for her father, a pink bird alien wearing an SPG uniform named Heron, to enter the room to greet his daughter happy to see her daddy hugging him super tight, telling her "good to see you again, Siryn". Heron sits on the bed with her with young Siryn asking him "please tell me another one of your stories about your adventures in space with Commander Draco" Heron tells her "well there was this one time we fought the Monstar's forces together in the M-51 galaxy..." before we cut to present day aboard Gamma base where we see Siryn in her personal quarters drawing herself as a power ranger on her tablet only for Marlon to walk in on her, Siryn hiding her tablet the female bird alien exclaiming "Marlon! don't you know you're supposed to knock first?" Marlon then says "I came here to read you a love poem I wrote that'll sweep you off your feet... or talons... or whatever you Zephyrosians have" Siryn then says "more like ruffling my feathers" Marlon then opens his notebook and says "For all of time and space I will seek you out amongst the stars, where space dust fills our lungs, for you are the planet that orbits around my sun..." only for Siryn to stop Marlon telling him "just stop, you and I may have been classmates at SPG academy at one point, but you're from Earth and I'm from Zephyros, it just isn't gonna work out. honestly, I have no clue why the Nova crystals chose rookies like you, Leon, Cami, and the others over someone like me who's trained under Commander Draco for years" Marlon then opens up Siryn's drawer and finds the drawing of herself as a pink ranger, Marlon exclaiming "is this you as a power ranger? you never told me you were an artist Siryn" Siryn tells Marlon "those are private!" swiping the tablet from Marlon's hand embarrassed, Siryn telling Marlon "I've dreamed of being a ranger since I was a hatchling, seeing you guys being chosen has made me feel kinda resentful" Marlon pats Siryn on the back, telling her "don't be, who knows... maybe you'll get your chance someday" before we cut to Zodiax's fortress on the Cimmerian planet where we see Hegemon report to Zodiax that the Monstar syndicate's next target is Earth, saying that this planet has plenty of potential resources. Zodiax looks at the hologram of the planet and says "excellent, we will stripmine this world for our benefit" Octania is leaning on the wall saying "ugh, when do we get to go do some planetary pillaging and plundering with the new boss, uncle? I'm bored" Krakulus tells his niece "be patient Octania, you are merely a bounty hunter in training after all" Hegemon asks Zodiax "with all due respect boss, why did you agree to recruit these annoying squids to our cause?" Zodiax tells him "simple Hegemon, Scorpio recommended them to me" and right on cue Scorpio enters the throne room exclaiming "I'm back!" Octania rushes up to Scorpio to hug him, saying "my beloved scorpio, never leave me" Krakulus exclaiming "they're in love? disgusting" Hegemon telling Krakulus "for once we agree, squid" Scorpio then tells Zodiax that he brought an old friend of his, and a female monster named Snoutia enters the throne room, as she exclaims "lord Zodiax, good to see you again! haven't seen you since the conquest of Liaria" Zodiax introducing Snoutia to his new crew members Krakulus, Octania, and Scorpio (whom she's already met) Snoutia asking Zodiax how she can be of his service. Zodiax tells Snoutia to take her Mondrill to Zephyros and conquer it in the name of the Monstar syndicate, Snoutia saying "I bets the dreams of its people taste delicious!" before we cut to a Mondrill landing in Zephyros's capital city where Phasers are deployed and start attacking the bird people, along with Snoutia showing up to siphon their dreams with her snout causing them to fall into a coma. Heron watches this, shooting at Snoutia to protect the comatose citizens only for a pair of Copyguards to shoot at him forcing Heron to take cover before we cut to HQ where Draco is contacted by Heron who informs him that Zephyros is under attack by the Monstar syndicate and one of their monsters has left several of his planet's citizens comatose. Draco is troubled by this, calling his students to the bridge. Draco informs the eight of them that he got a distress call from the planet Zephyros, replaying the message he got from Heron to them, saying that he'll be sending Leon, Wolfie, Cami, Tarus, and Marlon to Zephyros. Siryn exclaims "that's my dad, I've got to help them!" Draco then tells her "you'll have to stay with Otto, Gray, and I on the ship" Siryn then walks off frustrated, shoving both Otto and Gray out of the way as she walks past them. Wolfie looks at Tarus and says "is she okay?" Tarus then says "beats me" Marlon then tells the others "Siryn has always dreamed of being a ranger, she's frustrated that she can't be like us" Cami telling Marlon "I had no idea Siryn had these feelings" Leon replying "me neither, I feel kinda sorry for her. I dreamed of finding my father one day, so I can relate" while Siryn eavesdrops from the other side of the door. we then cut to Leon Cami, Marlon, Wolfie, and Tarus entering Gamma base's zord hangar getting ready to board their respective starzords only for Siryn to enter the room much to the shock of Marlon who exclaims "Siryn, what are you doing here?" Siryn then tells him "I have decided that I want to go with you, I can't stand by and watch my father or my people get slaughtered by the Monstar syndicate. don't tell Draco, okay?" Leon tells his teammates "I say we let her go with us, I'd hate to let her down" much to the shock of his teammates. Marlon then grabs Siryn's hand and says "if you say so red leader, as long as she gets to ride with me in my swordfish zord" Cami telling him "enough flirting lover boy, we got a planet to save" we then cut to the five starzords being deployed from Gamma base while Draco watches from the window of the bridge, only for Otto and Gray to enter the room where Otto informs Draco that Siryn has gone missing, Draco then asks where she could be. Gray then uses his telepathy to sense that Siryn has stowed away on Marlon's swordfish zord with Draco exclaiming "she WHAT!?" we then cut to the five starzords entering Zephyros's atmosphere, the rangers in awe of the sight of floating islands amongst the clouds. Siryn tells the rangers over intercom that this is her home, a gas giant where her people build their cities on floating islands. she then tells our heroes to land on the largest island where the capital city of Zephyros resides, saying that's where the Mondrill is located. the zords land and the ranger start walking through the city streets of Zephyros, Marlon telling Siryn "so this is where your from, seems nice" Siryn tells him "as long as you don't get too close to the edge you'll be fine, since you humans can't fly and all" Wolfie telling the two "you guys are just too cute together" causing them both to notice they're holding hands and blush. Leon then makes the observation saying "why do all the planets we visit look like New Zealand?" much to the confusion of Tarus who says "what's that?" Cami then tells him "it's an earth thing, don't worry about it" only for our heroes to bump into Heron who rushes up to hug Siryn, telling her "my baby girl's back home, my you've gotten so big! I haven't seen you since I sent you to train with Draco at the academy when you were a hatchling" Siryn then introduces her dad to the Supernova rangers AKA her classmates from the academy: Leon, Wolfie, Cami, Tarus, and Marlon. Heron tells the five that they've all come just in time, telling them that the Monstar syndicate have occupied Zephyros and that a monster has put several of its people in a coma, pointing to all the comatose bird people lying on the ground. Leon says "we know, Draco showed us your message" Draco then contacts the Supernova rangers on their morphers, asking them is Siryn is with them, Heron asking his daughter why Draco would ask something like that. Siryn tells her dad that she kinda snuck out without Draco's permission. Heron tells her "I thought I raised you better than this young lady! you could have gotten yourself hurt, or worse" Siryn snaps at her dad saying that she couldn't stand by while her planet was in danger, pointing to the Mondrill in the center of Zephyros's capital city only for Snoutia to show up with a platoon of Phasers and Copyguards, Snoutia exclaiming "oh goodie, fresh meat! Zodiax told me you'd be here. kiss those dreams of yours goodbye rangers, because they're about to be gobbled up!" Leon then exclaims "you've been eating dreams? you can't do that!" Heron then grabs Siryn's hand and tells her "that's the monster that put our people to sleep, we got to go!" before the two Zephyrosians run off. the five then whip out their Nova Crystals before shouting "Nova Crystal, activate!" before plugging them into their Nova blast morphers and shouting "Supernova, blast off!" doing a running insta-morph to protect Siryn and Heron (cue Kyuranger episode 4 fight) while the rangers are busy fighting the Phasers and Copyguards Snoutia sniffs out Siryn's dream and corners her and Heron, saying "can't run from me little birdie, your dream smells too delectable..." only for Siryn to grab her father's blaster from his holster and points it at the monster, saying "my dream is to be a power ranger, and I won't let you take that from me!" pulling the trigger only for her shot to miss Snoutia which makes her laugh. Heron tells Siryn to run only for Marlon to leap in and shout "don't you lay a finger on her you big-nosed freak!" as he swings his Nova dagger at the monster only for Snoutia to swat him away with her giant fork weapon before eating Siryn's dream causing her to become drowsy, apologizing to her dad and her teammates saying "I'm sorry I let you all down" before falling unconscious allowing him to pick up Siryn and teleport away with the phasers and copyguards, Marlon shouting "NO!" while the rangers regroup and de-morph, the five turning to Heron being distraught over his daughter being kidnapped with Marlon promising him that they'll get his daughter back. we then cut back to Gamma base where Draco suddenly sees Heron storming through the doors entering his office, Draco saying "Heron, good to see you again old friend. what brings you here to Gamma base?" Heron then scolds Draco for letting his daughter recklessly get herself into danger saying that she's been kidnapped by the Monstar syndicate. Draco tells Heron that's not his fault, saying that he did not anticipate Siryn acting like this as she's usually a well-adjusted student. Draco crosses his arms and tells Heron that she probably got emotional when she heard her home planet was under attack and wanted to help, saying that she probably couldn't stand the thought of losing her father. Heron looks at the old family photo of Draco and his husband Grizz with young Pierce, Heron telling him "wow Draco, didn't know you had a kid too. you never struck me as the type to settle down" Draco tells him "that's not my son, he was one of my students who went rogue" Heron then says "that's kids for ya, they never wanna listen to their parents" Draco and Heron are suddenly greeted by Otto and Gray who tell Draco to come to the bridge quickly, Draco then enters the bridge where he gets a video message from Leon saying he and the rangers have tracked down where the monster took Siryn, saying that she's in the outskirts of Zephyros's capital city giving both Draco and Heron a sigh of relief. we then cut to Snoutia and the footsoldiers taking Siryn to her hideout in Zephyros's city outskirts, all the while Leon, Wolfie, Cami, Tarus, and Marlon hide behind some debris. Marlon feels the urge to blow their cover and rescue Siryn himself, but Cami stops him telling Marlon to slow down. we then see Zodiax along with Hegemon, Krakulus, Octania, and Scorpio teleport onto the scene with Tarus saying "looks like Zodiax has bolstered his ranks" Leon then tells him "I recognize scorpio, but I don't think we've met the two squid people before" Zodiax then tells her "this better be good Snoutia, I had to travel halfway across the galaxy from the cimmerian planet in order to get here" Snoutia then says "oh it's good alright, I was able to snag ourselves a hostage... one of the rangers closest allies. and on top of that her dream was tasted real good" prompting two copyguards to drop the unconscious Siryn in front of Zodiax who tells his minions that thanks to Snoutia they've finally got someone they can hold for ransom. Hegemon, Krakulus, Octania, and Scorpio applaud Snoutia who says "oh you're too kind" only for Snoutia to pick up the scent of the rangers exclaiming "wait a minute... I smell power rangers!" Wolfie hears what she says and says "dang, her sniffer's better than mine" prompting the five rangers to drop their cover and confront Zodiax's crew, Marlon exclaiming "you give back Siryn right now!" Zodiax tells the rangers "If you want your little birdy friend you'll have to go through them!" prompting snoutia along with the phasers and copyguards to block the rangers path, Leon making the witty remark "we'll gladly take you on, and that oversized nose of yours!" Snoutia then tells them "you leave my nose out of this!" the five rangers plug their Nova crystals into their morphers exclaiming "Nova Crystal, activate! Supernova, blast off!" (cue Kyuranger episode 4 second fight) we then get a brief original footage scene of Marlon shooting Snoutia in the gut with his Nova blast morpher exclaiming "give Siryn's dream back!" causing her to puke out Siryn's dream which returns to her body causing her to wake up, Marlon helping her back up while Leon fights off the phasers to protect her. Siryn apologizes to Marlon for acting stupid, saying that all she wanted was to help them fight the bad guys so she can protect her planet but all she did was disappoint her father. Marlon grabs Siryn's hand, telling her none of that matters now and that all he cares about is that she's safe. Siryn tells Marlon "I don't know what to say..." only for a glowing pink ball of light to fall down from the sky and land in her hands, Siryn exclaiming "is this... a Nova crystal?" only for the pink Morphin' master to appear before Siryn much to the shock of the other rangers while Zodiax and his minions slowly back away with Zodiax saying "no..." under his breath, Octania saying "this is bad, isn't it?" Hegemon telling her "you have no idea, squid girl" Krakulus telling him "for once we agree, lizard" the pink Morphin' master tells Siryn "your empathy for others, and your willingness to help your home planet to protect the ones you love have made you worthy of the pink Nova crystal" firing a bolt of lightning from her staff that causes a Nova blast morpher to materialize on her wrist, Siryn telling her "I don't know what to say..." Master pink tells Siryn "as you mortals would say, you go girl" before disappearing. Siryn looks at the pink Nova crystal in her hand and says "this is for you dad. Nova crystal, activate!" before plugging it into her Nova blast morpher and shouting "Supernova, blast off!" *cue morphing sequence* Siryn becoming the pink ranger much to the surprise of her teammates, Cami exclaiming "Siryn's a ranger now?" before we cut to Draco, Heron, Otto, and Gray watch from the screen on the bridge, Otto exclaiming "unbelievable!" Gray telling him "I knew this was gonna happen, Xybrian future vision and all" Otto and Gray both high-fiving while Heron says "my baby girl's a power ranger, I'm so proud" Draco puts his hand on Heron's shoulder telling him "all you needed to do was believe in her" Zodiax then exclaims "she's a ranger now? Snoutia, you take it from here" followed by Zodiax, Hegemon, Krakulus, Octania, and Scorpio teleporting away leaving Snoutia to face the now-six Supernova rangers on her own. Snoutia then says "well fine then, go clip that pink ranger's wings!" prompting the phasers and copyguards to attack. Marlon and Siryn double-team against the footsoldiers with Marlon asking her "M'lady, would you be so kind as to take care of these creeps?" Siryn then says "thought you'd never ask" whipping out her own Nova weapon: the Nova shot, blasting her way through grunts. Draco contacts the rangers from the bridge of Gamma base, informing them that there's something he forgot to tell them before they left: Siryn upgraded their belt buckles so that they can store attack crystals inside. Marlon says "sweet, thanks Siryn!" pulling an attack crystal from his belt buckle exclaiming "claw attack crystal, activate!" plugging it into his Nova blast morpher summoning a giant crab claw that yeets several Phasers into space. meanwhile Siryn is dodging fire from the Copyguards spreading her wings allowing her to fly through the air, Marlon exclaiming "she can fly now?" as she evades the missiles before pulling another attack crystal from her belt buckle to plug into her Nova blast morpher exclaiming "scope attack crystal, activate!" summoning a holographic scope allowing her to take aim at Snoutia and fire knocking Snoutia on her rear causing her to puke up the rest of the dreams she ate which return to the Zephyrosians waking them up. the rangers then charge up their Nova blast morphers in unison exclaiming "Nova blast morpher, star strike!" blasting two Copyguards that Snoutia uses as meat-shields destroying them. Snoutia teleports into the cockpit of her Mondrill, Zodiax contacting her on the computer screen telling her to dispose of the rangers immediately. Snoutia tells him "on it, boss" as she presses buttons on the console transforming the Mondrill into battle mode. Siryn then contacts Draco telling him to send in the zords, Draco telling her "on it, and I also got one just for you" the rangers look up to see the Lion, Wolf, Bull, Swordfish, and a new zord: the Eagle starzord enter Zephyros's atmosphere out of hyperspace, Siryn exclaiming "that's my zord? so cool!" before teleporting into the pink eagle zord's cockpit. the other rangers watch the eagle zord attack the Mondrill prompting Leon to tell his teammates "come on guys, Siryn needs our help!" teleporting into the cockpits of their respective zords to form the Supernova megazord, with the Eagle starzord as a new arm (cue Kyuranger episode 4 megazord fight) Siryn then shouts "get a load of this!" summoning a bunch of pink feathers that blow in the direction of the Mondrill, Snoutia exclaiming "feathers? you gotta be joking" only for Scorpio to pop up on the computer screen to tell her "Zodiax would be pretty disappointed if you let yourself get defeated" Snoutia tells him "don't say that!" meanwhile Marlon flirts with Siryn from his Zord cockpit telling her "hey Siryn, how about we fillet this sucker... together" the Supernova megazord slashes the enemy robot with its swordfish arm before finishing it off with a pink star strike destroying both the Mondrill and Snoutia once and for all. we then cut back to Gamma base where Siryn has a happy reunion with her dad, Heron telling her how proud he is to have her for a daughter and that thanks to her the people of Zephyros have now fully recovered and their home planet is saved. the two have a goodbye hug before Heron departs for Zephyros, Draco looking at the morpher on Siryn's wrist telling her that he can't believe she's now a Supernova ranger. Siryn tells him that she hopes she can find a way to balance being both a ranger and tech support for the team. Leon, Cami, Marlon, Wolfie, Tarus, Otto, and Gray then all group-hug Siryn welcoming her to the team which makes Draco smile telling the rangers that's another Mondrill destroyed and another planet freed before turning his head to look out the window of the bridge, hoping that Pierce is okay. we then cut to Pierce walking through the deserts of Antares only for him to get ambushed by Phasers and Copyguards with none other than Zodiax, Hegemon, Krakulus, Octania, and Scorpio showing up to confront him, Pierce telling him "seems you recruited more maniacs to your cause" with Scorpio telling Pierce "we meet again, brother" ending our episode on a cliffhanger.
