Y/n POV

"We're doing what?!" I can't believe my ears! My parents have decided we're going to be a host family, for some kid we don't even know, and they've only thought to tell me now??

"Well sweetheart..." Your father starts, "We thought it'd be a fun surprise!"

My eyebrows shoot up to the top of my forehead as I look at him in disbelief. I then take a deep breath and sigh before nodding my head with sarcastic enthusiasm. "Great." I cross my arms across my chest and storm up to my room.

"Why would they do this to me, Sunoo?" I pout as I vent to my best friend on facetime. "They said they thought it would be a fun surprise. Because that makes perfect sense. Surprise!! Your whole life that you've planned precisely up to this moment is going to drastically change now, and you'll be sharing everything you own! Aren't you happy?" I jeered in a mocking tone. "How could they think I would take that well?"

Sunoo looks back at you, he's been doing his skincare while you've been talking. "Y/nnie... they definitely should've told you sooner. That's insane." He empathizes while putting on his lip balm.

"Ughhhh" I respond, helpfully.

"But look at me" I hear through my phone speaker once again. "It seems like there's no going back now, so you might as well try to find a good side of this..."

"Tell me one way that this won't be a train wreck. I dare you." I shoot back, I know he's trying to help but I just can't imagine-

"It could be a cute boy" He shrugs as he says this matter-a-factly.

I freeze in my self pitying for a moment. "Okay... you might have something there but I'M STILL NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS." I point at him while saying this and he puts his hands up in surrender.

"Y/n! Dinner!!" I hear my Mom call out, I can't tell if she's angry but I better shape up just in case.

"Coming!! I'll call you back Sun" He holds up a peace sign and hangs up as I drag myself downstairs.
