Now I'm panicking!" Conner exclaimed. "Leah told us about the army down in Washington City and what happens to them if they disobey one order. They get shot!" A new day has arrived and the main job Conner was occupying was patrol with his buds. For them they'd be walking about the Southside of Georgetown on their way towards an area where the forest touches another road that shoots out into the west; there they'd sit and wait.
More of the locals in town had enlisted in the Georgetown Militia and were involved in training as soon as possible. Leah's chilling highlights of her visit made Caden and Evan go door to door of every able bodied teen and asked if they were interested in joining the force. During his decrees, some joined. None of them were forced into doing a task, but were suggested. This moment they were either training or they'd be patrolling around the gas plant further down the road from where Jackson and his crew were at.
Andy's own military was beginning to strengthen yet he was worried that they weren't ready for any type of combat. For now all kinds of safety would rely on foot patrols around the town. Some key parts of the community required extra protection: The town community center, the local school, police station, gun store, and gas plant. Andy was proud that he managed to gain almost a dozen more supporters to join his militia. Training would now have to taught hastily not by Andy, but by Donny.
A time of conflict could not come any quicker and without warning for the natives of Georgetown, nor their militia. Caden too was feeling on the tense side with the Village Elders and they weren't sure if they should renew the local rules and enforce a Second Amendment. Now the pressures that made him feel like George Washington were starting to make him want to tear out his hair with large grasps. Leah too wasn't feeling opposed to the idea either.
"We're making an army right now." Jackson replied to Conner, "With some guerrilla tactics we can stop them."
"No, we can't."
"You really think we stand a chance, Jackson?" Owen asked from behind.
"Part of me says it's going to take time before any of us can hit success, but there's also room for sacrifice."
"You gotta be kidding me." Conner said while shaking his head. "We have maybe two dozen guys up against thousands of other guys who've got military style weapons, and all you can say is that: you feel we can hit success!" He sighed. "This is getting out of hand." The crew started making their way through the forests as they bickered on. During which Owen joked about if any of them hand any ideas for booby traps. Anything from a pit of spikes to something like a hidden rope that could snatch someone and pull them up to tree level, just like in the cartoons. All of them declined and Jackson joked about digging a pit and covering the top with branches and covering it with leaves. By the time they'd reached their destination, they'd be ordered to sit and wait for a certain period of time and report in to Andy via radio. Now they were in better luck to be presented with a few more talkies, however, they were still in limited stock for the whole town may need them.
"Andy," Jackson beeped in, "we're in place. Over!" Everyone started being required to end each radio transmission with "Over."
"Perfect, I'm sending a few more guys your way to watch over the gas plant. If you see anything suspicious, Gimmie a beep. Over!"
"Over and out!" Nothing but radio silence would commence for now. A waiting game would inaugurate for every member of the militia as soon as they reach their position. Almost every day since first contact with Marcus and the yellow Hummer have been nothing but a time where nothing would happen and it felt like they were just wasting the day away. Some of the other soldiers said it was a great chance for them to skip out on some of their regular chores.
