At the cities edge they all stood on looking the evil empire they'd just fought with feelings of pride within themselves, knowing they were safe again. After quick examination from building tops they found it safe to leave by means of walking along designated streets. The Militia soon regrouped all together with Wolf and Charlie's team along with crowds of POWs. Liger saw them all again and glad to know that this time they managed to save them. Before any of them left they wanted to see it one last time. Looking back, Snake and his guerrillas took a knee and bowed their heads to say a few priers. Snake too wept during his moment of silence and wished there would be no more war such as this ever again.

What started off as a starry night in Washington City became a cold, bitter, cloudily day in Washington City. It set the perfect mood as they stood atop a large hill in the distance as they made their way back for their vehicles.

Washington City was once a largely populated city with law and order, but since the Great Disappearance it lost both of those. With their tyrannical leader gone and their prisoners emancipated, the city was now inherited by what's left of Joel's army as they either lived it the way they normally lived or resorted to finding a new leader. The key person they had in mind was electing Lance to power... Once they could find him.

Some of the refugees of Washington City got together and prowled about looking for food while a few others found the lifeless body of Joel and spat upon it. Those who found the corpse saw it as a gift of freedom. The ones who took the dictator's life away would to them remain unknown. Now they'd choose either to stay or flee. In a hurry they'd get together and collect the weapons of the dead and run for a new life.

Hundreds were saved and now gathered with the Militia and began to leave Washington City forever and keep it in the past. With them they brought their dead, who where to be buried back in their home town where they belonged. Everything and everyone got together again and ventured back to where they're roots started and grew.

One Year Later...

Once home, the once prisoners of Joel's empire were welcomed to Georgetown with great honor and Leah was made the new Village Elder and cherished her task she was assigned over a year ago and never regrets a day of leading. Andy too had raised up in the rankings as well and took pride as he was taught on what to do. He went from a simple law enforcer to general and later became a Village Elder. Farms were open again for work and now with double duty seeing they now had more mouths to feed. That didn't bother them what so ever seeing that they saved them and felt proud of that they did. When they did good, they felt good and when they did bad, they felt bad, that was their sort of religious view.

The Guerrillas stayed in Georgetown and worked as security alongside with Andy. The School opened up again with all children happy to learn in safety now as they did even after the event of The Great Disappearance. Leah continued to teach along with other teachers and enjoyed what they did. Conner on the other hand had found love with the girl he least expected to find love with: Blaze. Even the guerrillas were baffled that she was looking forward for a relationship. For now their love interest was going steady and some looked at them as though they were husband and wife. Elliot and Jackson returned back to their usual handyman work every day since the war's end. Will took in Michael Davis and treated him like a little brother. The Hampton Fighters chose to remain in their hometown as well, and always keeping in mind the courageous act they'd preformed for Georgetown. Both communities would always remain in contact. If anything were to pop up on either sides, they could aid each other.

The old battle wound had healed after some time. Memories of the lost were kept alive in stories of their beloved friendship and photographs with the care they had given. Weapons were kept by all fighters as tools for hunting and were seen as relics of the past. If there ever was the need for such conflict again, Snake and his team agreed to fight once more. In the mean time; it was a time of peace.

Jackson and Mila stayed together and with Leah's grant, she made both of them husband and wife for an ending they'd say was "Happily Ever After."
